if only 9x9 grids, then make the game without the minimap. it would help to lower the server cpu usage :p

Actually he has a good point. If you had to use only Cartography for maps, would probably improve it's use, and who knows, might alleviate some lag. However the incoming storm of people bitching (it already happens so much when it's temporarily down) the amount of bitching if it was permanent would be crazy.

I'm guessing you started playing again? I saw [dA]VoodooDog in IRC yesterday.

euh.... the maps made with cartography are the real hogs when it comes to performance.

yes, that was me.

i traveld from mapedge to mapedge and was not able to found a place wich was not spotted by any human before.
on almost every settlement i found runestones with like ~ "THE KILLER XS WAS HERE" "I FUCKED UP YOUR PLACE HAHAHA" on it.

that makes my peacfull heart very mad :(

okay, maybe we do not need a new world that fast. maybe we do not need "patches" every week, too.
what we really need is a good running lag free game. a step who could help to reach that goal could be: allow only 1 char per player.

I don't see how that would really help. They need a faster connection and for that they need income from this game on a regular base, has been discussed before. But you are right with the updates every week. I thought they wanted to tackle the big problems now, instead we get 2 small updates every week instead of one. JLo are you still working on stuff like lp system, combat and the like while throwing all that nice stuff at us?
