Don't want to get involved, just been following the topic and I had to laugh at this statement. There is a huuuge debate going on about nature vs nurture and you just completely ignored the nature side. There have been tons of studies that prove people are not the same when they leave the womb.

It has a reason I ignored that side. Because I simply do not believe there is much truth to it. At least no sufficent explanation of the truth. Natural sciences have a big problem with that and I am aware I won't make many friends with that view on what is regarded as the holy grail of enlightenment in today's society.

Psychology for example has been mutilated over the past 120 years or so from what was once a promising field of insight to a very dull overcompensation of vague data.

Decent agricultural land in third world, especially South America, *is* predominantly owned by corporations back since United Fruit Company.

I was wrong on cereal, you can grow 12mil calories worth of corn on an irrigated, fertilized, pesticided acre of hybrid corn in USA's corn belt. Given 2k calories per day per person, you'd only need 3mil calories for a family of four. Of course, the yield is more like 3-4mil in third world farming conditions, and you can't survive manual farming on 2k calories a day, so your experience is completely irrelevant. Not that it would be relevant anyway, since we're talking about people who don't own enough land to get buried in, let alone a whole damn acre.

I also never said these people could or should liberate themselves. That can only be done in a joined effort and I know that is utopean and maybe pretty naive. That does not mean one shouldn't start somewhere.

I think you want me to be ignorant because that is easier to understand then. I am well aware that not all shiny objects are in fact gold and reality isn't as easy as I have been putting it here sometimes. There are a lot of unanswered questions in my head about how to actually create equality, how to not regress to some form of patronizing those I would like to make their own decisions and so forth and so on.

There is. Don't think it's possible to deny that. Science still don't know how our brain works exactly. It can't model, understand various mechanisms that happen inside us. But it feels that filling that gaps can help to understand how exactly people learn and become what they're. And in my opinion, the revolution that will close this gap, will be a one of that big things that can change the face of humankind. Will be this face ugly or not, it depends.

Otherwise, right now you're an observer looking at sky. Maybe you still think that it just holes in some big dome, maybe you've already calculated that sun, moon and stars move in epileptic curves, but you still think that earth is in the center. Who knows?
