Actually this is exactly what he did. The whole mountain was palisaded on the third or so day of new world. Possibly to prevent people of seeing this vault and reporting it.

Last night I was bored so I wilderness spawned a noob and went exploring. At first all I found were abandoned noob camps littered with skeletons and I thought to myself, "hmmm could be natural causes or I could be in a bad neighborhood." At one point I came to a palisaded area and there was a fresh naked body laying on the ground in front of the gate. I found a boat in an unclaimed cabin and started sailing around the waterways.

Once I got a feel for the area, I tried to find myself on the world map. I noticed there was a large village to the north and decided to head out on a suicide mission to investigate. Once I got up there, I realized I had stumbled upon Gomorrah. Knowing quite well who lived there, I thought that would be a good place to end my journey. Usually I train swimming and drown myself once I'm done with my exploring alts. I figured getting killed by Ainran would be a more interesting end than suicide so I parked my boat on the shore and started walking around the village walls. I wandered around out there for about 20 minutes and no one seemed to be around. Naturally I was disappointed. Finally, someone in a bear cape came by in a boat so I started a conversation, asking for them to kill me. Unfortunately, he didn't kill me, he only knocked me out and then left. I got up, wandered around for another 5 minutes or so and finally gave up on having someone put me out of my misery. In the end, I still had to train swimming and drown myself in the river.
