This is their store page. The lowest preorder package you can order is $15, and you will be given a Steam key from which you can download the game from.

The standalone client is now available on Steam. That means you no longer have to own Arma 2 and its expansion Operation Arrowhead. Among some of the changes compared to the Arma 2 version of Day Z and the standalone version is a more customizable character i.e. hats, vests, pants (with some offering more "pockets" to hold your goodies.)

With about an hour's playtime I've been able to scavenge everything you see my character holding in this picture. I'm currently holding residence in a ruined hospital that is in the middle of this town, within running distance of a super market and several large-story houses. I've killed several zombies and one unknowing survivor (he snuck up on me and I shot him in the face.)
