This is not about game rules, this is about basic ethics and personality. No one says that killer plays not fair, breaks the rules or should be banned from the game, we only assume he is a bad person (or roleplaying one), which is obviously true, because he had few options and he choosed the one, which hurts other people. The fact you can do something easily doesn't mean it is the right thing to do, apply your posts logic to crimes and inappropriate behavior in real life - doesn't make much sense in both cases, does it? Reputation is an important social tool and you can see it in action in this thread.

Clearly missing my last point.

In real life, if you're a fisher, and a boat comes and just sweeps away all your fish by being AFK, would you not want to harm them?
It's a bit of a vague comparison, but in Haven, where quality nodes are sacred in late game, he just stood his ground. If you find randoms harvesting your clay/water/soil nodes, wouldn't you retaliate, especially if they AFK while doing so?
So these ethics you're talking about. This discussion is about your own standards of killing, and some people might think it's justified. I think it's a justified kill, just a weird thing to brag about, since there's no honor involved.

tl;dr: If you won't kill people in those situations, me and the rest of the forums will gladly send alts to deplete your sources <3
Edit: ^and AFK while doing so :D

But in real life you can't really pick another dimension, an utopia where there's no crime. In the game world you can. Don't like dying in Haven? Pick another game.
What I mean is, how can you call it something that hurts other people? When they started playing Haven they basically consented that they might get killed one day. If they don't accept that fact they won't play.

While I agree with you, there is a reason why we have a stickied (and pretty long) thread called "Unfriendly People/Griefers/Criminals General", and none called "Nice and Trustworthy People". Assholes outnumber nice people in the meatspace, and it's only logical that's reproduced in Haven too (worsened, if you will, since in Haven there is no law or retaliation unless noobs are faction-aligned). The best solution seems to be writing in the DnT and asking for help and guidance of willing veterans.

That being said, this thread went way off-topic already.

Get real guys, he clearly killed that newbie because he could with no consequences, not because he was keeping the lake loaded.
