As most of you no doubt are aware, we are reseting the maps and characters tonight. That's right, it's a brand spanking-new world untouched by Hearthling hand and unaffected by the trials of the past. Obviously, we've taken the opportunity to make a few changes.

I keep hearing about a "dig macro" that is not all that good, and can net u around anywhere 30-50k(or was it 3-5k) of lp. that doesnt sound like a lot of LP but if you are doing that when you are asleep, at work, making dinner etc etc it'll add up.

Depends on whatever system they end up implementing.

Macros only exist when there is a need for them and the game allows them to. But instead of wasting time punishing people for using them, one should instead examine them and improve mechanics so they are no longer needed.

To leak a little information here, there is actually a pretty good mechanic in the works to prevent afk time macroing.

People will always macro in a grind based game like this. You've probably heard it before but I just wouldn't worry about it, as Jorb and Loftar don't care to stop the people who do.

A macro for lp while you usually wouldn't be playing won't be necessary anymore though, probably even alot worse than the planned mechanic. If people still macro stuff like filling steel crucibles, meh I couldn't care less.

Interesting, if what you say is true it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside about the future of HnH.

My comment was directed towards our current world. And when I said Jorb and Loftar don't care to stop people I mean just that, they don't want to spend their time being a GM, when they could be developing a better system.

A small clarification to further take away confusion:
Between worlds 1 and 2, there was no character swipe, just a new map (and mechanics which added the whole quality system).
Rumours from that ancient aeon is probably what puzzled you.

I'm guess this is a reference to the death from old age thing loftar talked about in some suggestion thread. Basically your character only gets a certain number of actions before they die, so by macroing something like digging and just wasting your actions on that, you'll end up worse off then someone who use their characters life effectively.
