Yeah, umm, you definetly need to work more on your modelling... And, uh... 3D might not be the best way to go when you're starting off like this.

The best advice anybody could ever give you is this: Start small.

And I'm telling you, that's not at all what you're doing.

As a web developer who also knows "real languages" like c+ and perl which may be a shock to a poster on the first page. Yes, we are allowed to learn more than web only languages. :P
I have more than 20 languages on my resume. You are asking someone to contribute freely to your hobby when they can just do it alone. The graphics are the easy part.
Everyone wants an mmo - the programmer is the one that makes it happen.
I'm making one myself, as a lowly programmer, pray tell why I need joo is the point. Mine is in canvas and svg and started out in 03d. I couldn't help you if I wanted, I already game while working because I have too much to do and keep pushing off my own hobby to do both.
I'm only posting this to let you know that it's highly unlikely you will find a good programmer that will work for you for free when they can work alone for free and get all the credit lol
If you do want a better place to go for help - head over to http://www.devmaster.net/ and just look at their forum - full of someone that knows a little wanting to make an mmo and look how many devs are jumping on the chance to work for free for their glory.

They wont work for free. I did not ask for negativity, but for helpful critique, and please, make me a fully populated photorealistic planet with animals, plants, trees, cities, people, spacecrafts, and do I know what. I know programming is the hard part. Good luck on your game as well, but really, I dont think you're going to get anywhere if you're so rude normally as you were here.

Edit: I'm not working with professionals right now, I do have fun with them though and they all like working on a project together. Really, you sound so bitter, now I re-read your post.
Lonely?

Not trying to be rude man just telling you the facts. I am the type of person you are likely seeking (except for the part about you thinking me rude).
I was at the start, when it's just an idea and you will get many more naysayers than just what I gave you. It really does have to be something you want to do so if you get defensive you aren't confident in yourself yet, keep learning.

Edit: omg now you resorted to name calling, are you a kid? I've said all I need to say, your project will go nowhere with your lvl of defensiveness.

He's not being rude, he's being realistic.

Not to say that art isn't hard (although I say modeling is a LOT easier than sprites), programming in most of these start-up-MMOs is most of the work, there are also many more artists around in those communities than there are competent programmers, the majority though are always idea-men, people who have nothing to bring to the table but lots of ideas, good or not.

You should still try and find someone IRL if you can, internet just isn't the greatest idea, even if you have 10 hour skype conversations daily like I do.

It is most of the work by far, and I know this, thats why you get much much more programmers than anything else, right?
I'm an idea man, alright, but I try to contribute as much as I can as well (Not the best modeller by a long shot, still learning though).

Programming is not most of the work. Nor should it be if you plan it correct.
Finding and working around and fixing inherited, initial code, limitation and bugs is, while trying to extend the current program.code(application, game, whatever).

Plenty of preliminary "Where Going to Rewrite" cases to proof this correct. ;)

That's up to the programmers, I guess.
My concept just got a major update, so all people interested in the game, check it out! :)

this is probably the only thing you should hear from this thread
you should also understand that attempt to make a 3d MMO game with "fully populated photorealistic planet with animals, plants, trees, cities, people, spacecrafts", especially multiple of them, is equal to suicide..

i would seriously suggest to make it 2d, maybe with 3d sprites/objects if you really want to. i dont think top-down view survival mmo shooter would be that bad... in fact, i've never seen one like that O_o also, i seriously doubt about UE3, but you could try it.. there are mmo games made with it already, after all =x tho mortal online appears to be crappy
