how much of it is automated? does it simply gather the leaves and put them into containers? or does it also log in at the right time and move worms to containers? how much time/tedium would you estimate that it saves you? do you think that it is cheating? or do you feel like it is a necessary fix to a flawed system?

Everything except fetching water and fuel (which are expected to be available at certin locations), but this limiation is just because i was to lazy to code this too (but it wouldn't be that much of an efford to add this).
or does it also log in at the right time and move worms to containers?
The bot is able to log into an account and select the right toon (i only use this feature to relog in case the client terminates) so i could easily tie it to a sheduler. I decided to not do it, for one since i would consider this cheating, for another because i shut down my PC when i don't need it (to conserve energy).

It saves the complete clicking related to create silk thread.
do you think that it is cheating?
That depends on how you define cheating. Since the bot is actually slower than me actually doing the same stuff myself (since it has less brain than a human, hence it has to check stuff more thoroughly) and i start it myself, plus my PC is blocked by it as long as it runs... i tend to say: not really.
or do you feel like it is a necessary fix to a flawed system?
Since i'm suffering from RSI (a good part of it caused by H&H) i use the code to just relief me from doing the clicking myself. Silk as-is is repeated clicking through a pattern (ok, the robot is actually a bit smarter than a macro clicking a defined sequence on the screen, eg. it will breed the better q cocoons while unraveling the lower-q ones since it actually watches the world and reacts to what it sees) at the right times.

The bot was more like a proof of concept, given some love it it would be able to basically automate creation of every object ingame (eg. it could be used to run a farm and spew out all types of food on demand, create bricks en-masse, go fishing or - in case the objectives given are sophisticated enough - even create a village from scratch). With a bit more of coding it could also be expanded to be able it to fight (PvE and PvP) or - some more work would be needed to do this, but basically it's possible - free it from predetermined enviroonments leading to it being autonomous (= enable it fo freely roam the world).

This all is archived in a way that an unmodified client is running. Surely this is kind-of overkill, since in case it would be incorporated into a hacked client a lot of the work would be unneeded (since it could operate directly on the data used to render the world instead of having to parse what is presented onscreen).

I talked to Jorb about it and only things he asked me to do was to a) provide information about how to break such a bot (@Jorb: as long as you don't fuck up the experience for a human player i don't see a reasonable way to archive this, that's why i support changes like this). He also asked me to b) never ever release the source (or an executeable) of it - which i honour, so even my villagers don't get a copy of it.

I got it recently, definitely from HnH.

If I had the skills, I'd make myself one as well and I wouldn't consider it cheating since you said you can't do anything else during that time.

I DO however consider any macro made purely to get LP/create hunger cheating and I don't condone it. It saddens me to think all the play time some people are putting in is diminished by the EXTRA lp that the macroers get (so I'm NOT saying macro's are better than playing, I'm saying they're an unfair advantage since not everyone has access to them and they're not a game feature).
