ah. youll have to build your mine next to the water on paved land. carve the walls on both sides of one of the halls around the water. pave the land and begin construction on the mine. doing this should, theoretically, still give you access to the ore.

Is there any reason why I only get the dowsing circle in one part of my cave? If I prospect a few steps closer to where it pointed it says no minerals found.

Prospect give to me same result: Point south, advance few step, like 20, say no ores, advance 20 more say Iron below, go south all around a corner the tiny arrow point north, to the middle of a dark area, is like "there is some metal inside this large black area, somewhere".
I already find 3 metals in the same cave, prospect prospect work only FEW tiles away.
There is a post with the right numbers of prospecting.

I think it was posted in this thread or another but yeah, the area of effect on prospecting is very very small. I heard it was only about... 50 tiles? at q20 extract.

A good way to reduce amount of supports is to make a design. We got a good support system going and its not messy at all so try to think of a good design system.

not really cave mining per se, but it's a mine inside a cave.
