It happened about a month ago. I had just finished my bussing shift at a restaurant. The cold outside air slashed my face as I walked into my house from my car. I was tired and cold. I had only wanted to refill my curiosities, but upon logging on, I found scents all over my unpalisaded base. I didn't care what they took, but that they actually robbed me, a peaceful, weak, hermit. I logged onto the IRC and explained my situation. I was cold, tired, and didn't care what happened to my character. I set off. I then dumped all of my LP onto UA, raising it to ~60. After about 40 minutes of tracking the perp, I stumbled upon a man in a bear cape walking in the opposite direction of me. I decided that trying to take the raider wasn't a good idea, seeing as I had no combat experience whatsoever.

That's when it happened, 3 more people showed up. 1 of them initiated combat with me. I lasted about 40 seconds until his sword pierced my heart. I went back to the IRC to say that I died. Well, it turned out the raiders were on the IRC as well. Oh the irony! It turns out that they were from Odditown. I did get complimented on being a good raid, so it wasn't all that bad. I believe the guy that posted the picture of my dead body went by the IRC name "Vladamir_Putin".

(world 4)I logged out RIGHT when someone initiated combat with me I thought i was safe, logged on to a blank character screen
(world 3)I went into EmberWood holding wearing newb stuff(nettle and wooden bow) I met someone in the middle of the village and she kinned me so i thought everyone else in the villlage was that nice. Then when I went back to my boat two guys wearing merch robes,dragon helms, and soldiers swords killed me. They got so little exp from it no number even popped up x.x

Realizing where 70 UA is enough to soak the first attack from a bear, 100 marksmanship is not enough to expediently shoot it down before it mauls you to death. (at least, not with a bow)

Didnt quite die, but it was damn close. I was running around some random guys base searching for stuff to steal (I'm a bad person blah blah). After finding hardened leather in a house, some one in a boar helm initiates combat with me. He did maybe 10% of my defense with his 1 swing, to which I responded by hitting him for 90. Next hit, he's on the ground, and i kill him. I collect the spoils, and walk back outside. 3 people are standing there in merchants robes and druids helms. Without thinking, i run back into the house, they had me cornered and down to 8 hhp, when one of them foolishly moves. I sprint for the door, run like hell towards the shore where my boat is sitting. I hop in it and take off. The 3 of them followed me for the next 30 minutes or so before dropping their pursuit. Havn't stolen from anyone since >.>

In the spirit of Dumb deaths, and almost deaths...

I was removing stumps from the side of the river I live on with an alt who only has Lumber jacking. Since I only had a stone axe it takes 60 seconds per stump so I was watching a tv show while I was removing the stumps.

So out of the corner of my eye I notice movement, look over at the computer screen to see a boat going by ont he river, but since they went past me I didn't think anything of it, and went back to watching the tv show.

I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye again and turned back to see the ghost leaving the lumberjack alt. So I logged in another alt inside of my palisade ans watched the murderer ride his baot by and talked to him for a couple mintues where he commented on my alter to the bear gods. Its a pile of skeletons from alts I sacrificed to a bear, 12 of them, and 3 that a griefer had killed, with e Rune stone keeping score.

He commented that it was griefers 4 now. To which I laughed and said thats fine they only had lumberjacking anyway.

He headed off down the river, and knowing that he would be back in half an hour or so since the river dead ended I formulated a plan. I took the new lumberjack out and started to haul some more logs. I didn't remove any stumps since I wanted to have stamina avilable when the greifer showed back up.

Low and behold about 30 minutes later the greifer comes back along the shoreline, hops out of his boat and starts heading towards my alt. So I start into a sprint and head right for him, dodge around him, hop in his boat and take off down the river. After I lost combat with him I hopped out of the boat picked it up and ported back to my palisade and took a look inside of the boat to find 2 Large Chests. One with a few chucnks of perch meat, and 1 that was about half full of various curios!

Quite a haul for me since the best I could make was coffers!

So Dumb death: Semi Afk while removing stumps next to a river

Semi Dumb non-death: Griefer losing his boat to his "victim"
