you could start from map generation. it will show you how hard this work is.

programming language does not matter, but for server you would try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erlang_(programming_language).

Oops! I went off to work on the forums/site and forgot about this topic.

I'll respond to all of your posts.

@ShadowChris:
Not sure, the Devs have been arguing it for three months now. I think though at this point we'll end up on C++ or C#.
Not sure yet.
In regards to balance, that is. No more wild animal attacks that kill you easily. No more curios (Although - We might add them in addition to the normal LP system at some point.)
We have a server that I haven't gotten to work yet in the back.
5 MB/s download. My upload is only 480 KB/s though.
1TB. My friend is about to send another 1TB hard drive, though.
Yes, if we can make one. However, it will not be the #1 priority, and will come after we have most things working.
We have one guy who has made browser and an operating system, (Can't link the browser or the OS) and been a teacher of programming (C++ in specific). The other two of us are nowhere near as experienced.

@Tempwad:
I know the map generation will be hell on computer for me.

@Sab: Lolderp, indeed about the Flash thing. I forgot what I was talking about.
