Hmm, well, given how a road from Brodgar to SC passes through the heart of the land available without crossing a river, its kind of a natural place to have a road. Even forgetting SC, such a road can connect a wide variety of villages and settlements, and hence be very useful to everyone. I'd love to see this trunk road get nice and wide, even four of five tiles, with plenty of signage.

Well, maybe not bituminous coal, but even some peat would be nice. And tetrahedrite *would* make for a fine H&H ore.

Yes, peat is something we've been planning to add. In particular, it would, of course, be entirely necessary for production of whiskey. ;) Right now, we just don't have any other use for it except for use as generic fuel, which would be pretty pointless given the general utility of branches.
