So.. How long does it take to drown if your boat has been stolen whilst you were over the water? :P

I'm really disapointed of these patches as a casual and single player :
- i won't be able to have crossroad until ages... to have a safe village you must have an iron node before and make some steel (and all that is before that). Or you can use keys...oh great
- whenever someone with better combat stats / gear comes around me (well, everybody in a good village), no matter how careful i am now i have 99,99% of chance to be killed with this 10s for hearthing.
This patch is horrible imo, especially for weaker people - i think they didn't deserve this at the moment.

Autohearth was rather abusive, but this just means its so difficult to escape for the weaker player. I like the suggestion by bmjclark, but perhaps the aggressor should be able to prevent certain people in their kin list from hearthing by colouring them a certain colour (to prevent the problem that he brought up, where he has half of his enemies kinned :p )

The xr change just seems to be stupid; the villages abusing xrs have enough resources that they don't care, so just hurts smaller groups/players really.

I think the devs should just acknowledge this was a bad idea and revert.

I think that removing quick-TP harms weaker players without removing aggros. If it seems that TPs are unrealistic or are anything like unbalanced, why are aggros still in the game?
it's my oppinion that this two features should be worked on together, and that canceling quick-TP instead of dealing with auto-aggro is a nonsense.

today, and some of these topics, understanding the meanings and implications, and the perspectives of those concerned.

bravo, bravo

this is hilarious, completely agree about Vclaims, they would to some extent replace xroads at this rate, with like an arbiter alt to join people too and from different vclaims, pain in ass, but not too hard to automate, back come the double gates and gate keeper alts?

i am trying to understand what someone did with a ram?, managed to transport it through an xroad? or used it to knock one out? i do find it a bit ridiculous that these magic posts are hard to destroy.. then again, never tried. if they became easily destroyed, it would mean bubble compounds on entrances to villages

seriously hilarious though, servers down now though, so either a major rethink, or something extra

That's not even a valid argument. If someone wants to kill you, they're going to be running auto-aggro and they're going to aggro you before they're on screen. Once aggro'd you can't hearth or log out anyway.

As far as the crossroad patch is concerned, you're right. This makes something so integrated into our daily hearth lives too expensive to reasonably use. While crossroads hurt the spirit of the game, removing a great deal of danger from our lives, without them means we have to rely on keyalts because god help you if someone gets ahold of your key.

you know, you could always make it so aggro does not stop you hearthing, but say, getting hit interrupts it, then the amount of time it takes is a balance issue

would make people invent interesting ways of distracting others, perhaps introduction of flash bombs? or some distraction combat move, like throwing sand? i dont know

I was pissed because my tw hit 100% while I was trying to warp to my village idol(thought it was lag at first so I hit my hotkey a few more times) but the crossroad thing is just too much...

I don't like the unkinned hearth idea, I usually atleast say hi when I see someone, but lots of folks take off running even when you try to kin them. does that mean I shouldn't be able to hearth when I want because some noob is scared of me? easy way to abuse that, put a bunch of alts around someone's walls.

I'm fine with a delay(not as long as it is now) and I agree with whoever said it, crossroads should go back to normal requirements and have thier hitbox removed. it prevents the abuses and still allows people to get out of thier vilalges.

The point of the fix was to prevent the recent modded ability to auto-hearth or auto-log out when someone is within 50 tiles of you. This is 25 tiles out of your normal field of view. The point was that combat could not be initiated in the first place. This mod was pesky enough that it would essentially prevent all combat forever. The fix was a delay on hearthing and logging out.
