You said that not everyone in a democracy likes the person who gets elected. This goes without saying, because OBVIOUSLY not everyone is going to like who gets elected. That is elementary knowledge, hence unneccessary to say.
and you remember what i quoted first?

people tend to ignore that elementary knowledge and believe democracy is perfect when it is just one of the tools that can do both good and evil.
go vote for someone you like, sure you have this someone you like in the list
otherwise, your compromise starts here...
go vote against someone you dont want, your vote alone can actually move the majority which is obviously influenced so hugely by those pay-hard "personal attack" tv commercials and the campaigns and the like. internet and even youtube too!
right?
we all still want to believe each individual ponders enough to pick the "right" candidate using "right" information source, and gives enough meaning to this event. we really should. but lets take a look at what are available. can we, at this state?
(im not american but i said "we" because the situation is somewhat similar in my country.)Also, have you really not ever heard of the Enlightenment? Pick up a history book some time, it might help you.
i have.

its just the way you had it with lowercast "e" first which gave me a different impression, and that we use that word very differently in buddhism. its pretty hard for me to link that said philosophy + "the New World" age, to that word,
especially when i have been reading books like "the crucibles" and "the scarlet letter" that i got recommended.
