You're also not waiting 96 hours to tan a hide just to have it reset back to 4% so there is a difference.

Don't know what kind of answer you want, fallout. Yeah, someone brought this up about a year ago. I recall seeing the thread myself. Thus, you're not really bringing anything new around. If things didn't get fixed then, they're definitely not going to get fixed until after the mega update coming some time after the Salem release. I'm going to take a stab at it and say loftar already has a fix on it, but isn't going to bother coding it because so much is going to just be rewritten at that point. (Going to take a stab and say he had a fix for it a year or two ago, but was just too busy with other things to bother.)

Yep. No point or need for someone to ask for a simple workaround by lowering the needed time for tanning a troll skin. (or even report anything else for that matter.)

So even 40 minutes is a long time to wait around to tan. This bug is kind of annoying, some people can only log in for a few minutes a day, and I don't want to be stuck on the same map as my house for 40 minutes.

See, that's the thing. You don't HAVE to be stuck waiting around there for 40 minutes. You just have to make sure that the map sector doesn't unload, which means porting back home every 20 minutes. (This has always seemed to work for me. Port home once about halfway gives the tub enough time to finish.) Of course, the simple solution is to make the leather when you're going to be at home, such as doing the cooking, farming, etc.
