The following journal was recovered from the ruins of Fort Ballsacks.

Spring, 128

I arrived at Ballsacks a bit late. Two months into my term they tell me! The first thing I notice is all the furniture and workshops sitting outside, in the rain. This would need to fixed right away.

Image

There's also a dwarf standing outside muttering about rocks or something.

As it turns out, those stockpiles and workshops were under an overhang. That's a disaster waiting to happen. I instructed the miners to mine out a section near the dining hall for furniture storage, and to open up an area behind the workshops for the workshops.

Image

Turns out that dwarf that was muttering about rocks claimed a workshop. He's slowing down the production lines! He's working on some odd device. God help him if it's a fist.

I ordered the dwarves working down at the forges to haul some wood down so that we could save time by not climbing all those stairs to get wood.
As soon as those old workshops were deconstructed, they exploded with furniture! No wonder no work was getting done.

Image

The object that dwarf was working turned out be to some shitty wooden crown. At least it wasn't a damn grate.

Image

Image

I sent a dwarf down into the depths to find something useful. He comes back up telling me that there's gold below the fortress. This will be useful for many golden chains.

One of the scounts ran up to me, something foul smelling oozing from his pants. He said that a titan had arrived at the fortress.

Image

I ordered the military outside to deal with the threat, unsure of how they would perform. After a few moments of the military waiting outside, I noticed fireballs dropping everywhere. Turns out this bitch flies and spits fire.

The group of soldiers falls into disarray when a fireball drops right on top of them.

Image

The titan lands and engages a few soldiers in battle. A macedwarf smashes it's wing clean off with a shield. That guy is getting a fucking gold cock when this is done. Shortly after, he smashes the OTHER wing off with his warhammer.

The first deaths are reported to my office. A puppy, a baby named Ber, and a fisherdwarf named Olon are dead. We didn't need the fisherdwarf anyway. A miller and a ranger are dead. Also, a noble had a baby girl. Isn't that cheery?

The titan hurls another ball of fire and kills five fucking soldiers. This isn't going as planned. Another four soldiers run into the flames and burn alive.

Image

Image

At some point, the titan must've died in it's own fire. The official lists of deceased are coming in. Ten soldiers died in the flames around the titan. Twelve civilians were killed when a fireball dropped down the stairwell into the dining hall. On a happier note, the noble that had the baby girl died with it.

Those official death reports are scrap now. More and more people are rushing into my office telling me that people are succumbing to injuries.
It would appear that the titan's fire has started a massive forest fire. I hope the wood cutters will be alright.

Image

It's also headed right for an elven caravan. What a terrible time to arrive. Oh joyous day. They walked right into the fire.

Image

As if all this wasn't enough, an attacking force of goblins has arrived on the horizon. Why couldn't those elves bring guards?

Image

Seventeen invaders, including their pet or some shit. We have nine soldiers left. The goblins used fucking lightsabers and cut the military to pieces. The only death worth mentioning is Questman. He fought off the horde of invaders long enough for the civilians to run inside. I have a feeling that I may need to escape from this place soon.

Those sick fucks attacked and killed a defenceless baby.

Image

A lone hammerdwarf fights until his last breath, taking out three invaders. That brings us down to fourteen. The last ruler here died. Turns out he was up in the hills when the goblins arrived.

The survivors put up a tough fight and down a few more goblins, but I fear it won't be enough.

Image

Image

Summer has arrived. I don't know who's left. It's awfully quiet outside. The screams and sounds of battle died down a few hours ago.
A dwarf, covered in blood, rushed into my office yelling about how there were goblins just down the hallway. I'm grabbing my spear and heading out to face these goblins myself.

Image

The journal ends here, nothing else written on the rest of the pages.

Sorry about that guys. The titan had already decimated the military, and the fucking lashers were unstoppable. Hope you guys have better luck if you roll-back to Questman's save. I'll be uploading the world in a few moments.

EDIT: Here's the save for you adventurers. http://www.mediafire.com/?niv9uc9b40glura

It might be good to put up some defences. I made quite a bit of mechanisms during my reign, just in case. Also, I never meant for the animal pen to stay where it is, I just couldn't figure a better spot for it at the time. You'll understand when you see it ;)

A DF Succession LP with no dwarfing list? BLASPHEMY!

They work like this- people post something like "Dwarf me!" and when the next migrant comes along, you make the dwarf's name their forum name. You can start with me :P

Also, these Overseer posts are depressing both in terms of quality and length. Typically in a DF succession game, the Overseer writes his posts from the point of view of the dwarf that currently manages the fortress.

If you plan on taking a turn, why not read some excellent DF LP's while you wait?

Both of the following LP's are in-progress, and totally awesome.

 OH! Why didn't I think of that? For some reason, I thought it would have been better to write about my real life:
WatsonX wrote: Being the the favorite nephew of the king of Tosid Edos, I've grown accustomed to living the good life.
My Uncle, in his "wisdom," wishes for me to become a general of his Grand Army; an idea I deplore.
In truth, I much prefer the finer things in life: Good wine, beautiful women, and songs of old. Mine is a life of pleasure and leisure; though I digress.
I'm not writing this to regale you with tales of my legendary parties or my wonderfully lavish lifestyle. No, this is the story of how I got to the hellish place now known as Ballsacks.

As I mention earlier, the king wanted to put me in a position of power in his regime. As he was exploring the idea privately of expanding his kingdom, he thought putting me in as expedition leader would be a good idea. He figured it would teach me valuable leadership skills that I would need as a general. After several months, he had made up his mind to send me out. So it was announced to me in Obsidian of 125, that I would, in fact, set up a colony for the motherland. I was given the task of setting up a decent foothold for this place which would be named Ballsacks. I was given 1 year to do this, after which I could return home. I was overcome by "joy" to be awarded this "great honor." In reality though, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. He had sent his own son to a Gulag in the southern part of the kingdom, for merely using Armok's name in vain; he is a devoutly religious man...

Maybe it could have been longer but it was a pretty boring year.
