DDDsDD999: Our development team hates those sorts of games, and I promise you that it will be nothing like that. =)

Automation is an option that some players will use if they want to manage an empire. However, it is not an 'empire management' game. There will be countless activities that will fun and interesting to play.

It can be viable to have a subscription for these types of games. If it's fun, people will pay for the experience even though their items and characters are transitory. I'll try your game but I probably wont stay. I'm not a big fan of automation (but I understand why you have it).

Rock on :)

Is there a reason you don't like automation? Think of it like this:

We did not want to create NPCs and quests, but instead wanted to provide players with the tools to create their own. 'Automation' is just another word for AI. It's important to have this in a simulation, otherwise the game world may start to feel barren or uninteresting. Moreover, the development team can focus more on creating 'tools' and let the playerbase build out the content.

That's basically all your game will be. Mindless AI players wandering about with little to no interaction with anyone except on that rare chance you catch someone at the keyboard. It's like offering someone a bicycle or a car. In one instance you can take the bicycle and go from Point A to Point B at a leisurely pace, enjoying the ride as you go. Then there's the car, for people who want to get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible.

Given the fact that people who reach Point B first will eventually be the ones better off, people will reluctantly choose the quicker option as to not be left behind.

dude, you are not getting it. think of it more as an RTS. you have some civilian units, you tell them to go harvest resources and forget about them. you build a blacksmith shop, you make a blacksmith to buy iron ingots and sell swords and armor. this is the type of shit that you as a player don't need to micromanage. why would you even want to?

yep i guess Sab you're closest to it - micromanagement automation not boting ... ;)

@josh
While i understand the need for suscription i'm worried about how you are plannng the payment. If it's just Paypal i sure won't suscribe - i suggest looking for a company that helps you with all that "booking" and gives options like mobilephonepayment and ukash too...

i think your project is very ambitious - i really wish you good luck!

Honestly Josh? Your best bet is to just let those of us interested into Alpha as it will save a lot of speculation and get you some down and dirty testers who have been there/done that. otherwise we'll ruin the entire experience for ourselves just through speculation and pessimism. :P

Everything is simulated on virtual processors because each creature may have an agenda or objective. This allows players to create cities which have patrol routes for guards, shops that support bartering, land rentals, and anything else that the PLAYERS decide to create.

Is there a pimping option? And if not, how long until the pimping option.
