The people have the power.

This would mean that everyone had the same power, although I think democracy is a wider concept than that.
I'm not sure about everything I think is required for something to be a democracy but for example I believe no one should be discriminated in a democracy.

There are many types of democracy. It's not so simple as your idealistic view. However ideally people should be treated equally until the point it is no longer reasonable. Most of these gender relation things are society constructs. Millennia of evolution have produced some interesting results.

That's what I just said in my post. I also said I was not sure of everything required for something to be a democracy. My first statement was just a try at summarizing what a democracy is. As taught in probably every school, the word democracy comes from the greek words "demos", which means people, and "kratos", meaning power".

This is the way I see it as well, the difference between gender is just what society wants it to be. Therefore I see no reason to why we can't change it if we so desire.

I agree with you in theory. However how to achieve the ideal is debatable. I see radical feminism as arguing women are better than men. I see that as foolish. Equality is a spectrum not an absolute.

democracy basically means that the majority has the power, minorities always loses it, unfortunately. if democracy is carried out in the idealistic fantasy world where everyone studies, understands and be well-informed of every situation and issue when voting, then it may create the idealistic "everyone has the power" world, but the reality is most people only seek their own profits at hands or talk about what they already know and ignore what they have no interests in.

on topic about your "equality", i doubt such numbers would always show it.
50% women seats would make it equal? having a female president makes it equal? i dont think so.
you may be mixing up "equal opportunity" and "equality of outcome".

There is no shelter for abused men in Sweden. There are however more than 250 shelters for women which are run by various branches of the mammoth organization called Riksorganisationen för kvinnojourer Och tjejjourer i Sverige (ROKS), an organization that has thoroughly been infiltrated in the Swedish government and all political parties through which they get close to unlimited state funds.

My apologies, in the game of telephone, some details get hazy. I should have looked over some things before making that post. The leftists /want/ to make men urinate sitting down.
They have not done so just yet.

I'm just tired of hearing 'muh feelings' from liberal arts degree majors that have nothing better to do than complain about not having more money than other people (who went and got better degrees).
If you're looking for someone to blame, bite the hand that feeds you. Makes perfect sense.

I'll look more into opportunity and outcome, thanks. :)
I do realize that those numbers don't show wheter or not a country is equal, but I still think they can hint about it. I was also trying to disprove Valerie_Hallway's messed up picture of Sweden.

There is a little truth in everything I'm afraid. It has more to do with degree. Valerie may simply have a partial view. And I'm inclined to agree with her general premise.

Mob Rule. Also a way in which the elites can fool the peasants into believing "the people have the power", as strandmullen has proven.
