Intel i5-2520M 2.5 GHz (Sandy Bridge)
8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Nvidia 4200M (disabled in BIOS. don't think i ever used it...)
Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD + 320 GB HDD
OS - Fedora 21
Display is a 1600x900 TN atrocity with viewing angles which can make you cry.

Desktop:
Intel i5-4690T 2.5 GHz (Haswell)
16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD + x2 500 GB HDD + x2 2 TB HDD
No discrete GPU
OS - Fedora 21
Eizo FlexScan S2133 1600×1200 and ViewSonic VX2262WM 1680x1050 monitors.

Thats 2 of 3.5 or there is so big hds out there? Also: why raid1?

Techmight: uve got a very competitive laptop, is it 1.5 years old ~?

Grable: Had you read the thread you'd see that i bought the desktop as is. I didn't "need" anything. Also, did you happen to miss Windmaker and his 48 gb RAM?

It's (3 + 3 + 1) * 2. It's RAID1 to make it redundant against a disk loss, obviously. That's what RAID1 is for. :)

I do have to say that video makes me more impressed with Battlefield than with the CPU in question. It's pretty cool how it's able to load-balance between 7 threads while not letting any one of them be a bottleneck. I'm fairly jelly.

jejejeje I know, I mean: why Raid1 instead of Raid0, for example. I know u've got some experience with data loss ;) xD Its a technicall question :P
