Oh Xcom, we all know that if the mechanics were reworked so the system would not be "broken" that people would still bot. The reason for this is simple. Haven is a survival game, anything that gives a player the slightest advantage will be used. And what more of an advantage can you get then having a script play the entire game for you?! Nothing like going to sleep and waking up to a cupboard of all the foragable curiosities you can possibly get so that you can then run a bot to study them all day for you! Oh, and lets widen this gap of non-botting players vs botting players by automating the collection of mussels for river pearls! A nice easy extra million LP per day for doing nothing but pressing your fancy button to start the script!

Its entirely useless to argue that botting does not give an advantage to the players, and then continuing to argue it does not ruin other players experience. Its easy enough to see, just go compare the prices of various traders through the worlds. You'll notice that for some items, such as food, prices have nearly doubled! You'll also notice some traders have even stopped accepting q10 pearls just because they're so common now. How will the poor new player who have yet to be introduced to
the world of botting compete with this.

Botting ruins the game for everyone. Period. There is no question about it. You are just being a prick about it because apparently it is the only way to fuel that over inflated ego, by justifying your botting habits and claiming that they do not give you an advantage at all.

Stop trying to argue against common sense, it just makes you look like an even bigger idiot.

@algeralith Look whos talking. Of all the people that tells me I have an inflated ego and ruin the game. More noobs have died and gotten there bases raided because your world map then any bot could accomplish over the next 50 years. STFU.

And many noobs have also been assisted, by knowing their location and giving them a fighting chance to learn the surroundings of their area before venturing off. You're only choosing to focus on one aspect of the world map. Fgt.
I had a retardedly huge signature and have gotten this embarrassing replacement to show for it.

and more noobs have gotten revenge and help from local benevolent warlords because of it than any bot could accomplish in the next 50 years.
prolly cuz bots cant really do that. or what you said. they just click things with values on them.

It doesn't matter. World map wasn't an intended feature and therefore falls under the same exact category as scripting, just not directly in the client. This is actually a perfect example of how scripting helped improve the game play of haven.

To be honest it feels like this discussion is pointless. All the facts are already presented and everyone's going in circles giving there subjective opinions. People draw there lines wherever they want to and spit on the ones that have taken one step further, it's just ridiculous. Before I started to script I thought everyone who did was scumbags of the server. Then I found scripting very enjoyable and fun and changed my mind. I guess those that never will learn scripting will never appreciate the enjoyment its brought me. Some of those will see scripters as satanic hell spawns come to take there enjoyment away, others will be less opinionated.

Clearly everyone does what they want to do with there scripts. Some harm others with them and other just build stuff. Then there are those that love the forum drama and loves the idea to create monsters in a group of people and spit on them for there tastes. I can say this much, I keep to myself and try help the ones around me and I bot most the time. The matter of fact that others out there find my habits distasteful without being affected by them is peculiar to me. Maybe if someone had there entire base raided upside down by me or maybe some of my botting had ruined there gameplay people could have as retarded opinions of me like alg. I am most likely one of the heavier scripters and I don't harm others. But then the ones that hate scripting do so cause they most likely don't script on there own.

My characters aren't all that or anything, but DEFINITELY enough to be competitive without botting them. Just tired of people using the bots (or lack thereof) as their excuse for sucking is all
