Well, its definitely not false, until that time point has passed and it has not happened.

It's just highly unlikely.

I'm not going to play this game anymore anyway, till the reset happens. Hope it's coming really soon.

Ok, I'd like to just throw in my two cents as a new player to this incredible little game...

First off, I haven't seen a mine, and I don't care, when I need one, I'll go on an expedition and go find one.
Secondly I have made a picket fence around a damn ROCK, where my hearth fire happens to be. I built lots of containers out of branches...
I needed a piece of bone so I scoured the forums on how to get the bunny. I found it. Lucky day, there are some rabbits to the west. 5 minutes later... I am killing the rabbit with my hands after capturing it. Thrilling. lol
I made a bone saw! I find some logs people left behind, and turned these ones into boards and made some crates and buckets.

Thats the short version of my little journey so far.

I find the scarcity to be an enjoyable challenge. I can imagine I will probably not be back for a while after I experience my first wipe as the tedium of developing my little cave man takes its toll on me regularly...

I just thought this could use a newblet's point of view on this as it seems nearly everyone posting their thoughts seem to be veterans of the game and all.

I like the idea of unlimited resources, however I feel that could easily break the game if someone had access to the resource's infinite... Resources... However if you just have recurring resources like they regenerate
every week or so by a small amount this would urge people to expand, but also make them plan more instead of well I have this mine here and I can basically mine the shit out of it and simultaneously begin a siege for
another mine. Instead you'd have to plan out your phases so that you don't run out of resources while you are conducting said siege, and so that if you are successful you have to plan for preparing the defenses for your
new resource.

I don't mind having to wander around scrounging for resources, it give me the opportunity to learn how much can be done with what I have or what I find, so that if I do find a place that is suited for a small settlement
I'll know what I can do with a much larger resource base. Like lets say with 4 planks I can make a crate. Well with 40 planks I can make a damn store room! I know I am probably thinking small compared to all of your
plans, goals, and feats, but like I said I am just a new guy.

I suppose you may flame me or whatever, so be it, I am new, and this is probably just gonna irritate the shit out of most of you. But like I said, its just a new guy's point of view on what was discussed. I am sure I will
hear how I am wrong and such, its cool. Just a few thoughts.

Funny, back when I played I controlled 4 mines up in a NE grid, think it was D1. I also agree that there are just too many mines. In my opinion next world should have half of what there currently is, meaning metal would would have some trade value, and there would be a lot more confrontations over precious metal mines.

You know, I think if mines and metal are going to stay they way they are there should also be more things that work on the rare-single-point-resource system. Mines are weird right now cause nothing else works the same way. What would really get trade going is if not every village had a mine but most had something special, even it was just wildflowers or lobsters or whatever.

In my opinion there is no need in restart now.

If there is need for some players in mines... then there is option to destroy all mines at once so they could be discovered again. Then abadoned mines will be found by new users. Also I think in same time there need to declaim all personal claims. It will allow old forgotten farms to be settled by newcomers.
All this will not lead to problems for active citys and people. Because they will build mines there again in 1 day and will stake claim again. And same with high q resourses... if they used, they will be claimed again.
There are no need to remove a village claims, because abadoned village objects could be destroyed so they give no trouble to newcomers...

This idea will be good for both sides... people who spent time and created some great and amazing city... and people who starts playing and wanna get some mine or good place to start.
