They aren't as charming as some other games, but jorb's put a lot of work into them so they are pretty respectable even when you don't particularly care for the style.

I actually love HnH's graphics a lot. The UI could use a bit of streamlining, but the overall game graphics seem to fit very well with this type of game.

True. Boats should capsize randomly every now and then, and drown you instantly. That would make swimming more useful!

Yup, 80 con + waterskin lets you cross any river. I never drowned because I actually bothered to check the forums/wiki before going to take a dip. I almost drowned once though because I didn't realize my waterskin only had 0.1 L left. Nearly had a heart attack.

Oldschool, hell yeah. I'd take H&H graphic over all this shitty 3D you have in other onlinegames.

early 3D graphics are about the ugliest thing there is

And new 3D is so prohibitively expensive and time consuming it's not even funny. So if you want content you can be happy to look at 2D is the way to go.

It's the journey that matters, not the destination. I don't play to get some arbitrary number in skills, I play because it's fun, and it doesn't get that much less fun when you lose some skill points.

Anyway, graphics wise, I think they're perfect for this kind of game. IMO 3D should never be used unless the gameplay requires it (like if it's an FPS or a flight sim or something), because it just ramps up system requirements and actually looks uglier. You just can't make models with the kind of detail a sprite can have and still render it in a reasonable timeframe on a normal computer. If there's anything that H&H needs graphics wise, it's higher resolution for even more detailed sprites.
