Of course it's about balance. You can buy 2 million pink ponies for all I care it means as much to me as you flushing your money down the toilet. I get pissed when your pink ponies turn into trampling war horses...

o look rozn chimes in. at least avu has some sense in his head, i dont value your input whatsoever

You know there will be a scammer out there sooner or later if more threads like this pop up. Also everyone can have their opinion and say. Idc about your judgment whatsoever.

This also happens with in game trading!

I guess we shouldn't have any trading ever!

It's part of the game that you lose stuff. Scamming money and scamming items that you got in the game are 2 very different thing. You never " obtained" the items.

the difference there being that that was NOT a derail; those people were discussing the reputation/deeds of the trader himself

i don't believe ive made an exception or treated this trade thread any differently than i have others in the past

then i could switch to this, "we are not derailing either; we are simply discussing the appropriateness of the trade itself."
just like sometimes a noob traider ask for a stupid price with ingame items and someone else points the stupidness.
the potential sellers and buyers can see how the idea of the trade is despised and the possibility of bringing more dangers to this kind of trading than normal trading.

allowing such threads with no pros/cons posts at all would let some new comers think as if that was one of normal trades happening on this game. it should never be encouraged like that without asking devs' will. (if jorb and loftar approve of such RMT threads officially on this official forum, then thats another story.)

"You could get scammed" is a bullshit argument.

If your paying the money you better make sure your seller is reputable and do the deal with an alt and take whatever precautions necessary. Trade in small increments so that you can't get screwed outta 50 dollars at once.

As a seller I'm planning to give half the goods first, than they pay me the money, then I give them the rest. I can only lose half the goods if they are trying to scam me. If they do scam me, so what, I knew it was a risk.

People have to big enough to understand they are taking a risk but every single thing you do in this game is a risk. Find a way to minimize your lose if it turns out they are scamming you.

As far as the balance issue that's an issue bigger than real money transactions. I'm selling curios, it's not instant power and the big organized villages won't fall behind the rich kid because they still have the same study time. Bots give you more of an advantage than buying curios would for fucks sake. If people start selling gear and stuff then they are basically choosing to get screwed latter on.

debating the morality? of his trade has nothing to do with the trade

im probably not going to approve of some moral crusade against these trades unless one of the devs state they do not want this happening on their forum

you should grow big enough to understand if you would appreciate such money transactions coming to your game if you were the developer and share the game with your friends for free and/or for testing.
you want money? stop playing games and go work in real life to earn you some. dont chase after 2 rabbits to end up with none.

i am kinda sure that jorb and loftar would look at this as an interesting phenomena rather than an irritating one, though. but just like custome clients, bots and some minor bugs, i think they would not "officially approve" this even if they dont speak loud against this.

The items are his, the developers so far have given no comment on whether this should be allowed or not, but I somehow doubt they care too much.

Oh yeah sure it would be great if those people donated the money, but they're not, whatever. :\/
