stranded2 was good for a day or four but after you get past the second level, it just gets stupid. not that the game is bad, its good, but the story just turns retarded and I feel the need to wear a helmet. a good time waster as long as you stay on the first level.

Runescape: Do nothing but grind skills and money so you can invite your buddies to your level-up party in order to show how lonely you are IRL. Also has a shitty storyline and a shitty player base.

Was fun when I was...13.

Although to be fair, I checked back kind of recently, and the graphics have improved quite a bit. Still has a shitty community, and the game's still a grindfest.

"Extraordinary 3D graphics..."

lol, no.

I found that since they introduced clans it has gotten better. But then again i like to help other people rather than blindly killing them. I also don't have much time to play anymore so there is that too, but it has always been a good distraction.

The graphic can be retro, but it doesn't mean that game is old. Even old games and with bad graphic have got "something" inside, that can take you into game for hours.
Played Vindictus, I liked this game. Waiting for EU version.

Speaking of Nexon... I love the older games they used to run but later dropped:

http://www.nexustk.com/index.html

http://www.darkages.com/

These two games were literally my introduction into the MMORPG world (I discovered MMORPGs back in 1998) and I will always have fond memories of them both. They've since been picked up by KRU Interactive and from what I can see they've been doing alright.

Between the two I love Dark Ages because of the faith and government system. In fact... with enough people you can actually run for different government positions (I think the lowest being guard) and succeed. As a guard you are given power to remove people from the town you are a guard of, which basically means you are going to be dealing with a lot of bots or people that use macros to raise skills. A person that has been removed from a town cannot reenter the town until a certain amount of time has passed (I am thinking a full real-life week.)

This leads a lot of people to abuse their powers for their own personal gain.

Corruption was, or still is, rampant and it ran straight up to the judges and rangers. People who used macros would pay off government officials to be left alone while others would pay to have people removed from towns simply because they were offended in some way. Of course the innocent person who was removed can't appeal the removal because to do that you would need a guard's help, so they would end up waiting for a real-life week until they could return to the town. Pray that the town you were removed from wasn't the one you needed to get into for a quest or church.

But... I digress.

No matter what new fancy game comes out I will still have a place in my heart for the older ones that started it all.

Edit:

Here's a link to the wikipedia article about Dark Ages. It goes a bit more in-depth about the game for those who would be interested in giving it a try.

I get on to try out new content (not much good at all except for quests) and I can tell you it has good quests and therefore a really good storyline, good graphics, a horrible community of mostly underaged immature kids, half the players are probably bots who ruin the economy, a very dull boring summer with no new updates, and that clans did absolutely nothing to improve the game.
I reccomend you don't play it and if you do the only way to experience the full game is to buy membership which is not worth it atm so don't even waste the time signing up.

Talking about Dark Ages made me think of all the good times I had so I decided to create a character and see what's changed since I last played. If anyone else is playing and you need a Priest in your travels, I'm your man. Send me the name of your character in a PM and we can get a group started.

"Normal" is only a difficulty level in video games - Aso11
Jackard: Koya only raises the lynx so he can molest it later
Koya: What means "molest" ? Translator cannot translate it or do it with no logics...

Hey guys, quick update about Dark Ages: It's horrible now. I don't know if it's because it's starting to circle the drain but they literally had an event not too long ago where you can get items that make your character level 99 in 10 seconds. So now the game is full of level 99s with no skill and everyone just stands around all day. It's like a dang interactive chat room.

Here's to better days, Dark Ages. I will miss you.

Closed Beta started a few days ago, didn't it? You should have an open beta soon.
