btw im just kidding but seriously after almost a month of this between my job and kids i just dont have the time to keep trying to do this at the expense of constant death bringing me back to the start...i could play and not care but its just too slow for people that cant put the time in it.

That is a real concern with permadeath games. They are not for everyone due to the nature of absolute loss and risk. For someone in your case, a village lifestyle would be ideal as it offers a great deal of protection. The issue is getting into a village that is capable of protecting you when you can't offer much time to help with village tasks and needs. =)

I use to say hi to others, 4 out of the 5 times I have stopped to chat I found that the other guy that initiated the convo was only talking to me to line up a good shot. Unfortunately now safety comes before plesentries.

There was an occasion that I once came across a stranger that asked for help and as I was assisting him with my responses he turned on me, a low act and quite rude. That is when I gave up on socialising. So I appologies to the 1 in every 5 that I may have ran or returned to hearth on rather than saying hi, you can thanks those that use communication as part of their murderous ploys for making the game less sociable.

Ya, even in more peaceful times whenever you stopped to talk to someone you moved around a bit. If their hearthling moved with you, you knew they were aiming at you and booked it. If someone really wants to socialize, just exchange hearthsecrets or kin eachother and chat in private. 1 on 1 conversations don't need to be over general chat anyway.

some rules i follow to save my life every time i encounter another hearthling.

teleport to your hearth if

-he wears a sling/bow
-he is wearing some fancy armor
-he uses a language you cannot understand

and in case you are already at your hearthfire which is nicely fenced in
-get inside your house

if nothing workis you can still drop your pants and run.

Ive honestly never have been attacked by someone in this game. Given that i didn't play much more then a month on W5, and ive only been playing for a couple weeks on W6. I usually talk to whoever i come across too lol. Everyone i meet is nice, not that im complaining. Idk if i get lucky and get put in peaceful places, but its slightly disappointing that its so peaceful where i always go.

If I see someone I don't know I kill them. I'll chase them for hours to get it done.

If I had let them live, they would have grown up to steal my flotsams, edelweiss, and probably cut down my trees, and this is unacceptable.
Of another era.

A village allways needs logs, and bricks. while a casual does this, it could allow enough time to get the lp to specalize for the village. The problem there tho is takeing the risk with some one since waffles has 100+ accounts.
