well, rabbit and venison are not very commonly available foods, at least, not around here anyway. rabbit isn't something that a lot of people would even want to eat. venison isn't prohibited by any religion. pork is available in most supermarkets and restaurants here, and lots of people eat it.

mmm... was thinking that deer aren't strictly considered cloven hoofed.

I don't know why people wouldn't want to eat rabbit. The meat is tender and juicy, it's mostly white like a chicken, and has a wonderful flavor that isn't gamy or strong. Also, they're really easy to keep in hutches and butcher yourself (if you don't want to bother with hunting wild rabbits).

One of the most delicious meats I've ever eaten, especially from a natural farm-raised pig. You can always tell the difference between farm-raised and store-bought and I will tell you right now if you have any farms in your area that raise pigs, ask them if you can buy some meat if they plan on butchering any of them.
