The playerbase should be what determines what is acceptable in a world such as HnH, but, with current abuse of mechanics, there's nothing to be done by it. This whole "Blame the guys who made it, not the dickheads who are trying their best to exploit it!" is the EXACT reason we can't have nice things.

There is a difference between what is morally wrong for the character you control in the fictive world it lives in and what is morally wrong for the players themselves to do. It is a massive difference between the persons themselves and the personas they assume in a game.

The only legit way to play this game is cheat, bot, abuse any bug you can and exploit any game mechanic you can. That's how it's always been and how it always will be.

A character killing another character in a ficitive world may be morally wrong in that fictive world for the character (thus making the character possibly a villain in that world), but the act of killing someone in that virtual world does not need to be morally wrong for the person playing that character.

Naos- Now you're just trying to split hairs to give people moral ambiguity. The actions of the player translate into said fictive world, especially when the actions of the player are non-specific to the character. Character's cannot create alternates of themselves, attempt to crash the server, repeat the same action without said operator dictating as such, and in that, botting is both morally wrong, and cheating from the viewpoint of the general users in the same community.

Just because you murder a character does not mean there's not real world consequences, mainly the loss in irreplaceable resource that is most precious to us; Time. People spend hundreds of hours on this game. Just because you perceive there to be no consequences doesn't mean they don't exist. There is time invested from the real world, into the game world, and in that, it cheapens the most valuable resource.

Where did I mention those hypothetical people that would suddenly become righteous law abiding folk if only there was some law? I mentioned broken people, those people that would crash the server when they are losing a battle, those people that would spam thousands of alts to block a wall bashing, those people that ddos the servers then blame the devs for not stopping them. As for your conclusions on my view of people based on exactly nothing keep them to yourself.

And don't even get me started on those self respect people that only do the right thing if there is some authority figure that tells them what is wrong.
