I'm going to have to agree with the OP partially on this.

Many of the features of the clients ARE game breaking.

Turning off darkness, You character isn't meant to be able to see in the dark, and you should not be able to mine and fight in pitch black. Further viewing range is a blatant advantage you can't do with default client, it lets you do things like shoot from further away which you just can't do normally.

NOW on the other hand some things SHOULD be in the default client. Like Being able to look behind trees and rocks? That makes perfect sense, the character should be able to do that.

Will Jorb and Loftar do anything about it? I would estimate a 0.3 % chance.

The bethesda is using the modder community to avoid fatigue on theyr game, why should loftar put some effort on redo a client that have been already modded? XD

I'm not Loftar, so you should not ask this to me, but also if i'm not a coder i know a little of it.
And look at some one other code takes some time. Check what is usefull, what is not, test it, see if you've "cropped it correctly" or if something was written in another part of the client..

Well. We are back to the beginning.
Why do all this, when the client is on the forum and works fine?
Or simple...

Why create a new client when everybody can easily use java and rewrite the client?
If i knew some coding, i was able to modify the client. Because it isn't safe.
And don't ask to me how are they planning to avoid client mods on Hafen.

default client has 1297 commits, Ender client has 1713 commits for client so it wouldn't be just c+p for Loftar ...

Because then I'd have to also maintain "that shit".

Ah, so the same reason texture packs aren't part of the main game. I totally get it though, troubleshooting code is a bitch.
