please just dont mix up individuals with the town in which they live. its not necessarily correct to assume everyone thinks or does the same. i always feel affronted when someone blames "laketown" for anything. its a town. towns are like google, they cant do evil.

It's not like we kill everyone without a reason. It's been clearly stated that once the secret fort is done you guys will feel comfortable enough to do more serious stuff.

Point being? I don't care about theft, but if it's organised crime, which goonheim obviously is thanks to fcn and JTG. I've never killed a thief unless he took some serious loot. I even let Rubs run free which is something i don't regret doing.

And stop using "hilarious" or we'd have to start a hilarious club or something.

First of all, laughing is good for you :) . Second of all, I'm sure you were right to do whatever you did. It's just good to be measured. Don't worry, I trust your leadership of Laketown and that your decisions will be good. Third of all... would I need a thread to start my hilarious club? 'Cuz I think I like the idea :D !

Oh, and fourth of all sorry Kimya, and that's definitely an awesome analogy.

Of course in this case a town could invade, take over, rule with an iron fist, etc, so I'm not sure how well the analogy works...

These towns are really more like ancient Greek city states.

Edit: the question is really about whether or not a nation can do evil.

Look, you can't say "members don't represent their towns, don't blame Laketown" and THEN say, "all of Goonheim is thieves and murderers, let's hellpurge it".

Pick ONE opinion and apply it to ALL towns.

That said, I don't even HAVE theft yet, you whiny crybabies. I haven't stolen a single thing from you, but you were going to kill me anyways, because JTG built the town we're using. Either Laketown's trying to kill Goonheim OR a handful of members of Laketown are whiny babies who have to smash everything associated with JTG, including innocent bystanders, because Sami would like to rape people ingame to force pregnancies or whatever retarded shit that was all about, and we all think that's hilarious and sad at the same time.

I know. But atleast this is a way to avoid other towns getting in trouble. Obviously when something happens everyone looks at Laketown. But once they ask me about it personally it's al right. Fact that we teamed up with people from all over the map is proof of our actually not that evil intentions.

Personally i don't think good and evil exist.

If JTG would be evil, would we be good? And if JTG says we are evil, would that make him good? I don't even think it's debatable. Good and evil is just a lie to guide people in your advantage.

I do have to agree with you on that. Even if you're religious you probably already knew about how much influence the church had in medieval times. They even committed what we would call fraud now.

First of all, I'm strictly against a pre-emptive purging. It's, usually, stupid. Granted, a sizable percentage of Goontown are living outside the law, but you really can't say that about everyone there. Not to mention that going on a mass murder rampage would lower the number of users, which is not desirable. And I'd say, the fewest of these are real griefers. The majority of these so-called griefers are run-of-the-mill thieves and other lawless persons. And just because they're members of a specific city you do not go pre-emptive on them, even if the percentage of shady people is clearly above-average. Always punish the person, not the community. In real life, community punishment has led to stuff like World War II.

I'd also say, don't be that hot-headed in your actions. That just leads to unneeded strife.

We were that hot-headed that we killed noone in their town. I am sorry for causing that much havoc.
Things are going to change. I'll wait and see what happens. But whatever happens, they will do something to piss someone off. And i think i know who that will be.
