True loyalty lies in correcting your friends or punishing them yourselves if they act in inappropriate, even in a game. There's a line

I'm getting really sick of this back-and-forth name calling. Keep it in the game and if you really can't handle the people, go out into Mordor and live there. That's what I did and yes, I got eaten alive by foxes but meh, they don't kill you dead.

It really makes you think, if people can get this upset over a game, then it's no surprise that wars are so common.

Frankly, I think that there needs to be better in-game moderation, but it's not happening, so make the best of it.
Surprise.

You've made it clear from the very beginning, from everything I've seen about you, that you're blinded by hatred and can't possibly fathom concepts like "he's my friend I won't leave him" and "well, I didn't take it, so why are you killing me". You hate us and are unwilling to change that, and I've tried very hard to make my posts clear about who we are and how we feel about things, and by and large, the community is willing to give us a shot. We moved to the end of the map to try and get away from people like you, and yet you're still here going, "you're evil we hate you we're never going to let you just mess around on your own land building stupid shit".

A lot of us have terrible senses of humor, but ultimately, we're making fun of you on the internet over a java game. Let me repeat: we're making fun of you on the internet over a game. At worst, our very worst, we're making fun of you over a game, and you're here raging and calling for our extermination and saying we're terrible (we are terrible) and don't seem to understand the difference between laughter and pranks and "You're not welcome here, fuck off".

Just ask yourself this:

We are 50 out of the 75 or so people on this server right now, and more goons are going to come if we welcome them -- that is, if we have a place and offer help and have a community for them to join of people that they like. We are a much-needed infusion of new players, new ideas, new playing styles and most importantly, newbie support. Half the time, people don't even know how to chat in-game, because the chat bubble in the top-left is unintuitive. A lot of the time, people can't MOVE, because it's left-click move and right-click interact, instead of the opposite way around and there's no tutorial. Poeple don't know about the CTRL+C world chat, because messages don't show up on the screen when it's closed.

How many people do you think try this game and then leave after five minutes because it's not worth their time to figure out the minutiae? I very nearly did, because I couldn't figure out who to talk to, how to move, or what to do -- but I wandered around and stumbled upon Goonheim by accident (I was lost), and JTG found me and talked to me and invited me -- and then I couldn't figure out how to bubble-chat, so I asked him and he helped me and gave me food and showed me how to use items and build things.

How many people do you think we've brought in who can be in this for the long haul, just because we helped them when they were confused?

Do you honestly think this game would be better without us? It was, apparently, dying without us -- just some 20 people circlejerking with their e-honor. Towns of 4-people dying slowly of bloat when we got 10 worker-bees building up a town enthusiastically and new members coming in by the truckload to get in on the action.

Peter: where's mordor? what do you mean? :( Anyways, we DID go to the edge of the map, and we would have been alone, but you guys didn't let us. So you can't be too surprised when we express skepticism. Aside from Blaze, no one else in the greater pubby community has been genuinely nice to us -- though Raep seems pretty cool.

Tell my why it is wrong about me telling what i think so you guys can tell me why what i think is wrong. Instead of swearing and judging people we should try to respect one another and share what's going wrong and why. That doesn't mean you or i can't say bad things about each other.

Give me a reason for not thinking "ah it's those fucking goons again".

You also have to realise that we can still hate you guys for committing crimes and that that's what some of you chose to do. You'd have to fit into the individual persons picture, which is not always possible. But it doesn't mean you can't talk.

I know i probably said some wrong things, but things have changed. Slightly.

Oh and to that useless wall of text above. You clearly have a wrong picture of me. Who told you all this crap?
I was going to meet you guys actually, but i wanted to raise my hp because i can't trust you guys. I wanna talk with some of you without getting banned from your irc for no reason besides being there. Some people were interested, as was i. And i was removed.

Look, if you call me names, I will call you names. That's basically how it is. Starchaser or someone addressed me politely, with respect, and in return, I addressed her equally politely, and with equal respect, and tried to explain my thoughts in a way that was civil and productive without calling anyone anything, proving that I'm perfectly capable of being mature and reasonable. You haven't proven that yet. All you've done is RAAAAGGGGEEEE at us.

You basically said "neener neener you suck" to me. So I said, "no you suck" to you. That's how things work. If you don't treat us with respect, we won't treat you with respect, and the ability to kill us has no bearing on that, because you can't force respect.

I never said you suck. I may have said you whine too much, but that should be about it.

When i read your irc after JTG got killed i was quite happy you guys moved out to the north. You have no idea how much i wish you guys to just gain my respect. But on the other hand i can't expect you guys to stop thiefing.

Am I the only one wondering why JTG waited until after there was a server wide witch-hunt for him before inviting the SA community into this game?

I mean, he should have probably suspected there would be some issues with leading a whole gaggle of freshly minted new bees with his less than stellar reputation and waning popularity.

Unless his goal was a epic grief-fest of both sides. Then hey, mission accomplished. Image

Edit: This is of course purely speculations. I have a hard time comprehending my own motivations sometimes.

I was talking to everyone, goons and "locals" alike.
Mordor refers to the edges of the map where the animals are at highest difficulty.

Now, I don't know, or really care, who first stole something or killed someone or carved symbols or destroyed whatever. I'm sure it was annoying and pointless.
But this whining is by far more annoying and more pointless.

I guess I am wasting my breath. I should realize that this is going to go on forever, or at least until both sides grow up. I should realize that I have no idea how old you people (and like everywhere else here, I mean people on both sides) are, but judging by your actions, there's nobody here older than 13.

It's easy to get in these arguments, and sometimes difficult to leave them. I implore everyone involved to put this behind them and treat the other side with the respect that you yourself expect to receive, or at very least simply leave them be.

I'm done here. This is my last post in this thread.
Surprise.
