Emerald, botting isn't only in the client, it will always happen by keyboard shortcut+clicking macros, at least. I remember when Colonies was a popular game, Bait macro'd the shit out of it even though there was no custom clients and owned the whole server.
Having only 1 client doesn't mean the game is suddenly fair, it never will be as long as someone is getting helped by a bot/macro. The gameplay wouldn't change much in my opinion.

I'm not sure which "recruitment village" you're referring to nor do I ever remember being killed while logging in

You probably have me confused with someone else

well I am not familiar with this stuff tbh, or whats possible, not possible etc. hence why I stick to one client till death do us part, cause I cant be bothered to figure out the usage of a new one!

I don't post allot in these forums for a few reasons this is going to be way off topic but i'm going to tell you why

1 it's the same few ppl saying crap about each other
2 allot of the ppl in threads like this one just seem to like to hear themselves talk
and 3 you guys make the same threads over and over again saying the same crap it gets old really ppl

but as for my view point on bots in haven

it's something that isn't going to be changed i'd be willing to guess that 90% of the ppl playing have used some type of script or modded client and yes just like in real life those who have no respect for the game they play will over use it and will ruin things for everyone else
i use bots every day when i log in if that makes me a BAD player then so be it i don't use scripts to do anything that hurts anyone else or that give me a real edge on the other players
i really think allot of this is just because you guys have run out of things to talk about so you drag out a thread from the stone age and remake it just to have yourself a bit of drama again and for the players who live on the forums but never PLAY the game shut up already unless you got something to say that will help the game

if any of you have ever ready any of my few post you will know i don't give a shit how much hate i get for the way I see things and how I play

Can we just have some sort of "honourable" agreement that if a forage bot gets killed by a "manual" player who doesn't take part in any of this faggotry the botter can absorb the losses themselves and move on? Its pretty damn obnoxious to demand payment from someone who's clearly not as powerful as you for messing up your gamebreaking toy that is moreover super easy for you to create with your botted q1000 carrots.

whatever

It should be quite easy to trap and kill the bot by bashing the boat. If I remember it correctly you wont leave scents. As for the land foraging ones you could either kill with expendable alt or a wild boar. The only people complaining about foraging bots are the ones to scared to even log on.

I doubt any sort of agreement would likely happen or truly be honoured. Just considering the lack of interesting late-game activities alone, I find it unlikely that most players would pass up on the chance to track some scents after they were attacked, even if it was just a bot they were running. I'm uncertain why Xcom and now Ghost continue to defend themselves as if this is some sort of witch hunt, but I do understand their point of view.

It's fantastic that they have been able to utilize something that I consider to have a negative impact on the overall playability of the game in a positive fashion but it really doesn't change the fact that they are the minority in this situation. I honestly believe that were Jorb and Loftar to come up with a solution that successfully reduces the feasibility of easily creating these scripts and running them within the parameters of the game, that these types of players would actually be disappointed by this. I don't blame them for their narrow minded perspectives as it's more a product of the environment, however they have yet to see the bigger picture it would seem.

I try to have an amicable amount of respect for everyone's opinions, but really when you decide you're just going to start rambling on saying stupid shit like "allot of the ppl in threads like this one just seem to like to hear themselves talk" even though I have yet to hear myself speak a word of what I've written, or, "drag out a thread from the stone age" even though the thread is called "Scripts abusing in WORLD 7" it just adds absolutely nothing to the conversation at hand.

If their goal however was to restate points that have already been refuted and to make themselves look even more clueless, in that respect they have succeeded.
