I have talked it out with Malicus in PM, I admit I was in the wrong with what I did and will be less trusting of newbies in the future.

If someone claims he has a scent and asks for your help, you should never just take his word for it. Ask to see the scent, and track with it at least once to confirm you're going to the right place.
