If there is need for some players in mines... then there is option to destroy all mines at once so they could be discovered again. Then abadoned mines will be found by new users. Also I think in same time there need to declaim all personal claims. It will allow old forgotten farms to be settled by newcomers.
All this will not lead to problems for active citys and people. Because they will build mines there again in 1 day and will stake claim again. And same with high q resourses... if they used, they will be claimed again.
There are no need to remove a village claims, because abadoned village objects could be destroyed so they give no trouble to newcomers...

This idea will be good for both sides... people who spent time and created some great and amazing city... and people who starts playing and wanna get some mine or good place to start.

Indeed, it's much better than wiping just everything.

yeah any folks begging for a restart need to realize there isnt a point in having one without major changes to game mechanics, arbitrary restarts would only decrease population

after reading a few... and skipping alot..

I must say i really like it how H&H works right now, sure it has alot of room for improvement and some things that are totally retarded.. but i don't care.
mapreset will come at some point.. actually the only thing i would like is a more realistic looking world. So i hope everything turns out well. Good job on it so far Jorb and Loftar.

Resets need to happen to keep the game fresh, I would personally rather that the game be played in a round like fashion.
For example, you could have the game world start with X amount of landmarks that towns can be constructed ontop of and after say a month make it so they can be destroyed with enough people working together.
After the second to last one goes down, members of the town with the final one are the "winners" and might receive something along the lines of pink capes or a battle scar on their future characters faces.
Then have the world and characters reset starting it over, possibly a new gimmick this time instead of the landmarks.
With the total time for rounds being just in the months, perma death isn't as bad as it sounds and people will be much more interested in conflict as nothing lasts forever.

Yes! I love you man! (No homo)

That would make people a lot less limp dick because they wouldn't be as afraid to die. PvP is fun, but it sucks because it takes a lot of time to get any PvP worthy character, which can easily be wasted. If you were able to progress faster and play during rounds, PvP would become a lot more common and enjoyable. Risk/reward would still exist, and people wouldn't be complete pussies.

Imo that's completely not the point of the game... Fast-paced heavy competition? :/
Although the sandbox-like nature of this game probably means you can play it in such a way.

Besides, people being afraid to die is the single reason why there's so little griefing in this game. Yes, there is some, but if dieing had no consequences, it would be much, much worse.
