Paradox was probably the best choice they could've gone with and stayed within Sweden, they're known for picking up good indie game developers and sponsoring them, and I believe they give alot of creative freedom, one example being Mount & Blade.

Possible it might be a one time purchase through Paradox Digital download site Gamersgate, like Guild wars is.

Re: Salem, a new free to play MMO created by H&H devs seatribe?

H&H seems to be just "alpha-stage name" of Salem judging by explanations in that vid. Or those are two _very_ same games =)
And J&L was in NEw York lately, where they was working with new publisher, eh? ;)

EDT: Is't "Salem" is some copyright-protected music band? (http://www.salemband.com/)

I really can't think of a better publisher than Paradox for a project like this. They've done an excellent job funding and publishing several indie games without messing with the creative aspects, and make plenty of hardcore games too.

I just hope they'll come up with some way to monetize the game that doesn't involve an item shop or other silly scheme. Why did they have to go with free-to-play? What's wrong with a simple monthly fee?

If this is true in terms of names salem<haven and hearth
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

I am super hyped, I think it will be great, they will have better resources, funding, larger team(?), server, everything!
Looking at the great things they've done with H&H with so little it could only get better.

Except it won't even be remotely similar to this game except for permadeath and a few other core mechanics.

Enjoy your desert god, ergot, and nigger witches.
