getting boatmaking. It takes me longer than some.

I don't think i've gotten below hungry on any character since my first one and finally figured out how to get food (unless I intentionally just wasn't eating because I was busy doing something else, that is). Once you get the hang of it, food is probably the easiest thing to get in this game. (There's a reason I push for new players to get Far... err Yeomanry over Boat Building first.)

You know, I don't think anyone knows any of my characters in-game. The few people I've met this world have died or I've died and lost contact with them. When I say I play hermit, I literally play a hermit--even finding my own ore deposits.

I will say I'm starting to get bored with the hermit lifestyle, at least full time, anyway. I'm just having issues with the client running right now, so i don't play much (mostly log on and swap curios, farm or mine some if absolutely need be). I've let my fat cows and pigs go to waste and I was sitting on a nice q80 iron deposit, but I'm sure some noob found it, mined it out, and wasted it. (How do I know it was a noob? The guy dropped a claim over a small dug out section thinking it would actually keep anyone from getting and mining out the deposit. A vet would have known the claim would need to be expanded to cover the whole claim to at least force anyone trying to dig it out to leave summonable scents.) If gameplay clears up for me any time soon (ie before the Salem beta gets rolling assuming I get an early invite), I'll start searching for some people to hook up with. I want to be able to start w6 with a solid group of people. (I'll probably keep a hermit around on the side, though )
