This issue can be effectively managed simply by not recruiting someone that sounds like a complete retard.

I always stop to talk to ppl or at least say 'hi' - so far only once did it get me in trouble. On a foraging alt i stopped to talk to someone killing deer, he kindly gave me one and offered to give me the other he'd just killed - in truth i didn't even want it but to be polite as it seemed like such a nice gesture, i landed my boat and got out to get it ... instantly being sling-shot, i got away ok but honestly .. how rude!

the best defence is to make sure your village idol does not have access to important areas. or do what i see most peeps do now, make a lil palli village somewhat close to main village and give them a month's probation(yea i said a Month) most of your would be griefers ain't doing shit work for a month. even though your keepin thier alt fed and curioed.

joojoo, most, sure, but there are rare exceptions that are in it for the big score. Of course, none of the worlds have ran long enough to really get in that "big score." This game just doesn't know real deception yet. Of course, the thieves and vandals here don't need a lot of social engineering, just enough to get in the gate(s).

Well Out of the 8 people I've seen in this game 4 of them where friendly, 2 of them killed me... and the other 2 i just kind of ran cause ehmm i was raiding a village and they wall was destroyed and there authority was low so i could get stuff without leaving sents *And i dont even have tresspassing or anything like that* and i don't think they saw me any ways And when i see people i say hi. and the two people that killed me well i didin't even see them *cause i don't have enders it just doesint work for me i don't know why* and i was like "Oh god why did something aggro me" and a few secs later... i died

I've been playing for more than a week now and currently on my 4th char. My last char will murdered or rather shot stone dead in my own palisade by a sling shot. The guy just came up and asked where I am from, typed the answer due to my politeness and BAM. So now, I begin to panic whenever someone comes up and asks me questions. I don't complain,really. Without you raiders, this game will be....err...boring and there will be no thrill in it but for all decency's sake, if ya wanna kill someone, just kill. Only sad fucks befriend ppl then stab them in the back.
