I don't think Ultima Online qualifies as a sandbox?

But yeah, day 3 of UrW, I love it.

Ok, I love UrW, but it's not an MMO. It's not even multiplayer.

But UrW IS a RPG, even if it is not an MMO. You get quests (or rather, achievements to moving out of the wild and into civilizations) and you can even choose to start your character out in middle of all kinds of different scenarios (i.e. you and your pops were out hunting. A bear killed your pops. Now you are faced against a bear in the wild with nothing but your poor old man's gear. Yes one of the scenarios is starting in front of a bear lol).

It is just that you have the freedom to play UrW as an all out sandbox if you wish. And even then you have the "quests" (achievements).

Doesn't sandbox simply imply an open world where you are free to roam and explore rather than being limited to a game ending main quest? Why wouldn't UO qualify?

I thought one of the criteria for sandbox is the ability to alter the world/landscape... Well, actually, now that I'm thinking about it, you can do that in UO with custom houses...

On second thought, I guess UO would be considered a sandbox, wouldn't it?

UO would certainly be a sandbox i think and i've played it myself but that were a long time ago. So im not sure what the new features and so on are. Thought it was very fun to play for sure. I have also updated the list with a game called Kogama which is fricking amazeing to play and you should really give it a try. :)
Thank you SacreDoom for the awesome profile picture you made!

I've done that scenario like every time because I never see that bear and I get decent weapons/meat from the dead dad.

Anyone who wishes a good sandbox, it is always the minecraft i suggest.

You can do anything, but why would you want to? Minecraft is a very basic sandbox.

And H&H is very basic sandbox compared to Dwarf Fortress.

^ Mwahahahaha...

Quick question. If you could have to quality system in minecraft would it be more interesting? (Yes other changes would be required to implement the quality system.)
