Afaik Haven had the Dryad and the Trolls implemented when the plan was to make H&H a fantasy experience, like with magic and wizards. So they are leftovers of the past just like the Necromancer Cloak or the design of the Lawspeaker Hat.
Please correct me if that's wrong tho.
Also: What I liked about Salem which I feel is worth a mention is that the world was filled with more stuff. Lots of different animals, lots of different stuff to pick up and find. Oh, and there were plenty of these resources all over your screen.
Would be cool if there was such a variety of stuff to find in H&H as well. But that's basically the same as simply saying "add more content!", so meh.
