If that was a big enough problem, people wouldn't race so hard to get iron, we already covered that. No matter how many advantages to not having iron are presented, it's as plain as day that everyone wants iron. It clearly doesn't balance.

If by dense you mean truthful? 10xLP makes no difference at all to what people want. Having one is clearly better than having the other, and the one is limited. People want iron so much more than '10xLP, not having to protect iron, not having to outlay the infrastructure, random other quibbles' that they're willing to turn raider to get it, despite not actually wishing to play that way. See: OP.

Ask any one of the dozens of raided and slaughtered cities whether they'd rather have a mine or 400 melee. LP is *the* most desired thing.

Clearly they wanted a mine? I would have thought that was obvious....

Anyway, getting people all huffy isn't my intention. Simply highlighting some things that the more hardcore players have a vested interest in not highlighting, no matter the cost to the game. Devs can make what they want of it.

How many of them went out and grabbed another mine this map? Almost all, right? Who is being dense?

Look, if you think it's so unfair, just go and find your own fucking mine. Contrary to popular belief, they're not all taken. Then go ahead and sell iron for chants 1:1, I won't be mad about breaking my "monopoly".

Why are you making the same accusations all over again? I told you, I have no desire for iron. This 'with me or against me' attitude really gets in the way of healthy discussion.

I'm simply stating a truth.

If one person is rewarded more greatly for an activity than another person, the second person will lose their desire to engage in that activity. It's basic human psychology.

Whether the devs want to do anything about that is up to them, but I won't be shouted down by a bunch of guys who are heavily invested in the status quo.

Then why has this prediction of yours never occurred during H&H's history? Metal trade has consistently flourished in each world until demand was filled (you'll only ever need 15 bars of metal, max), at which point all trade died off. The same will happen in a month or two in this world.

You're not being shouted down because of any vested interests, it's because what you're saying is completely divorced from reality.
