If alt thieves are bothering you, consider alt storage.
Since they use it too, why shouldn't it be used? Store everything and leave nothing to be stolen.

Indeed and a stalemate will be formed. The second era of the Vault. It will have similar problems too as thieves will have nothing to steal but those items that can be directly tracked.

At least until Jorb fixes it, and the more it's abused, the faster it'll be fixed.
*Obligatory Alpha saying*

I don't see why anyone would pass over a chance to have a completely safe vault. Especially since thieves have completely safe mains AND do the same.
Or does no one remember the "no hearthfire thieves", "hearthfire behind house thieves", and "hearthfire locks"?

Then, you run into vaults that will forever be unreachable. Since items stored on alts made by people have no scents, and thus they can never be robbed. Thus making thievery pointless.

From what I hear, some of the people getting stolen from are leaving the game because they feel that making anything is pointless due to true thieves being untrackable and stolen items being unrecoverable.

The other face of the coin.

Unless a collection of liftable objects is desired :P.

The main detraction from having alt vaults is that it would be slightly unwieldy to use at times. Lots of logging in and out plus keeping track of which alt is holding what. I suppose it would be worth it if you've got a lot of problems with thieves. One other solution is to spread your wealth like I do, I have a number of stashes in a number of places as it adds a little redundancy to getting robbed which otherwise is an all or nothing situation.

Fixed.
