"Death Penality" my ass. I also wish there were more server options and ability to mod things.

Apparently one of the things they are planning on is a hardcore mode. Given how quickly you can die sometimes, I hope hardcore death resets not deletes your character. Or that they add a randomizer for chargen. Otherwise chargen is going to become annoying...

I say keep your blocks (the simple ones like dirt and rock 'cause who the fuck cares), maybe cause armor degradation, and just drop everything else. Like stated one of the main things you can do is just tunnel to hell to get stuff and then you are un-stoppable. I'd also like to have the armor degradation be light because you die a crap ton, and maybe not effect weapons too.

hardcore mode = permadeath, ala Diablo 2

just hoping permadeath doesnt force you back to chargen

Permadeath would be very fun, especially dying so often it would extend content quite a bit.

Would need to get rid of devourers/skeleton worms following you home though, that would be too easy of a way to run a grief server.

They usually come back the next day if they find a new home I believe.

They do. Eye of Cthulu killed my arms dealer, nurse and dryad once and the next day they were back.

I wish I had a gun in the game... anyways, I built an arena to house my boss fights. It doesn't keep the bosses in, but it keeps your ammo in so you can get it back quickly which is useful for retreiving shuriken and bouncing missed grenades. also getting above the eater of worlds. It also keeps annoying peon monsters out of your way.

I dont know if anyone answered you earlier burg, but yes, the defense for obsidian skulls stacks.

I've done this too, it was the center of my awesome sky castle. Protip if you use bombs/TNT, Always make your houses out of dungeon blocks, no exceptions. Only way to grief them is with nightmare+ pickaxe, TNT won't break them. Tons of wood plats also help for jumpin around and stuff.

Bad news. I just found out from several other forums that Terraria was made using XNA Game Studio, a programming environment that allows you to use Visual Studio to create games for Windows Phone, the Xbox 360 console, and Windows-based computers.

What does this mean for Mac and Linux users? There will be no support for your OS so you shouldn't hold your breath. This makes me very sad.

However!

I vote that Jorb and Loftar buy the rights to Terraria in a hostile takeover and remake the game in Java so it is available to everyone.
