Of course you have, since people are getting killed more overall, whether they're criminals or not.

I actually hermited a bit this world to pass the time till Salem. I never left any scents, build my place in the middle of a forest on q30 soil and a cave with q10 copper (so I definitely wasn't blocking anyone's resources), and my only interactions with other people were buying some seeds from a guy half a SG away and giving a rope to some bear-caped guy that passed by my place. Then I got killed by a well known forumer who's on forums all about protecting newbies and punishing criminals. His explanation was that some third party hired him to do it, which doesn't hold any water at all given my behaviour.

After that I respawned in a completely different supergrid. I built a small place again and this time I talked to my neighbours. Met some nice people, and then they all got killed. Then I got into Salem alpha so I finally quit for realz, so I just quit, though I'm sure I would've been killed too if I just waited a bit longer.

So yeah, that's 2/2, and when people who claim to be the good guys over here are raiding and killing newbies for their q20 blueberry pies I shudder to think what people who are openly bad guys here do to newbies. So yeah, my conclusions from back when I was playing at the top level were confirmed by my experiences as a newb - this game's community has turned completely and irreparably shit. I just wish they shut down the bloody thing ages ago, so it doesn't taint Salem from the very start. The natural core of Salem's playerbase will be Haven players, and from a rotten core nothing good can grow.

Name the person who killed you please?

I once killed someone without scents, but I was told by someone I trust that he had murdered and threatened other people living near him. It was 4am so I didn't bother to find the scents. I still feel bad about it though, and I don't think I would do it again... I hope that it was not you. From what you are saying it sounds like you talked to him afterwards, so I guess not, but I'd like to be sure.

Still I will always feel uneasy about that one, which is why i'm posting here, I suppose. I always wanted to figure out if I did wrong there or not, since even people you trust can be lying (its the internet after all..)

I don't think we are all bad however.

Nah, he said he'll change his wicked ways, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt.

I don't know what to tell you. I have died "many" times this world but not a single one was without leaving scents somewhere, in other words, I've yet to be randomly killed. I didn't start with a large faction, didn't have any help and generally just played the way I always have. It's an open PvP game and might will "always" make right, this is a given. My personal experience has been that if I leave big factions alone, I can enjoy my game and do my own thing without much trouble.

The only people I truly see fussing much about the current state of the game are noobs who haven't soaked up enough info to be survivable in game yet, and guys like you Mod types who were "always" part of big factions and as such maybe aren't really that suited to a hermit existence. Very simply, if dying in an open PvP game is too much for you, I submit that PvP games aren't your niche in the first place.

As far as the rotten "core" moving from haven to Salem, I wouldn't worry much about that. I simply don't see it happening.

Must be because you never went long without leaving scents.

And LOL @ me always being in a big faction. I was in major factions in world 3 - 5, hermit in 6 and 2, and a big but utterly disorganized and newbish faction in world 1. I think I've spent enough time in all modes to make well-rounded observations.

And no, I really didn't give a fuck about my character's death. The death of nice friendly people I got to know sucked hard, though, because I've never seen them again (I didn't give them my forum handle for obvious reasons) and they probably wound up rage-quitting. So yeah, I'm not upset about the death of a pile of numbers, which is all that characters are, but about the death of everything good and kind in this community (and yes, that actually existed a long time ago in a world far away).

As for Salem, you just don't see the seeds of good gameplay that are here already and will surely blossom as content is added. Salem may not be much of a game right now because, well, there isn't much to do in it yet, but in time it will surely take over virtually the entire Haven playerbase, not the least because Haven isn't likely to see any development this decade.

And still does, I assure you that if nowhere else in Haven? get Emerald to town you and I assure you you'll find as much good and kind as you can find. Quite simply, (Hey were having peaceful fun and no one is fucking with us over here....) doesn't provide much in the way of headlines in "In Congress" so you rarely hear about such places but they do exist.

Until someone kills her for the lulz. Which is pretty damn likely from my experience.

She's still playing her original characters from the start of World 6 and i think the town itself has only had 1 or 2 deaths this world which were before the walls were built. This doom and gloom that you, Avu, Birg and various others keep proclaiming simply isn't the reality of the hearthlands. Even the big fights between Ainran/Dis and other big factions seemed to have cooled off for the moment. Bugs are of course still used but that is because Loftar and Jorb don't fix them and the game is presented "as is". I'd love to say that I saw this Apocalypse you guys seem to see overtaking the Hearthlands but it's just not happening in my area of the world and I have a ton of friends who play (Who aren't raiders) who aren't having problems either.

youpi, this is the game but I'm dispapointed and really sad for this piece of sh*t

Won't play or do any graphics for a time (I don't want to rebuild everything from scratch to see if objets are fine or not with the modding) :(
