Where did you discover Haven & Hearth?

A friend from real was spaming my skype account about that. After I saw trailer on page - i thought "oh god, NO!". Fortunately he didn't give up ... 1 week later i agreed for peace of mind and... still playing - 2 years soon

Yeah, when i saw the video i was like... "Oh great, a game made for 5 year olds." I think it's those old cartoony trees that almost put me off but once I started building my little farm i was hooked.

I figured a lot more people older than me would play this because of it's complexity, but then I found out there are a bunch of 15 year olds running around.

Whoa...Wtf? Wasn't aware that haven had ever gotten mainstream press.....

My biggest problems convincing people to play come down to the cartoony graphics... (Even my wife says it looks kiddy/childish and this is from a woman who likes Runescape) and most of all, until you play it, see the world map and find your place in it, you just cannot imagine the scope and complexity of the game. I mean, Haven is without a doubt the most hardcore game ever coded but it looks like Animal Crossing or something so it's hard to make people understand how serious a game it is. lol

I found this game the first time I went on 4chan's /jp/ board. It's a shitty board filled with a ton shitty 2HU threads but one thread caught my eye and that was their HnH thread. The greentext stories I've read about the game where inspiring, amazing even, so I entered the HS and joined their w5 village. We split after Pandemonium raided us but I had the best times of my HnH experience with the /jp/sies. I still miss them to this very day and I browse /jp/ every once in a while to see if they will come back. ;_;

Am I the only person who heard about this game by word of mouth? My friend told me about this game.
