Oh god... so old...

On my 25th birthday, which was a while ago, lol, my friend bought me a game i'd been after for the ps2. Later that day her 9 yr old son and his mate called round with a card and caught me playing.

"What are you doing?" he says - "what does it look like?" I reply, to which they both just start sniggering - "why are you laughing?" I ask, "because you're too old to play the playstation" was the response!

I can tell you I was most upset, lol, but it has never detered me.

There is absolutely no age limit on enjoying yourself and having fun! :D

My half brother is 13 years younger than I am and when he was 7yo he told me on the phone how shit hot he was at Nintendo's Super Mario (yeah, that's how fucking old I am :s ). I rocked Super Mario man and he's my baby bro so I told him in no uncertain terms where it was gonna end... "you're going down like a homesick mole dude".

I went for a visit a couple months later and he handed me my ass sooooo bad, shook my hand and said "see, TV games are not for old people"... I had nothing... fucker.

   - I soooo wish it could have been the other way around though. :D

Yay! For the over 30's, 40's and 50's and anyone who can still see the screen and operate the keyboard! :D

After reading this I feel almost like one of the young ones :D

Usually I am part of the older gamer generation too though (by comparison to the average MMO population) and the 30 is coming pretty damn close.

I keep looking at this forum & really wanting to play... but from past experience even if I start playing haven with the intention of just doing an hour or so a day, eventually it starts eating more and more time until I neglect all the things that I actually SHOULD be doing.

i.e. i think i'm too old for this now too :(

Same problem. I'm a little bit afraid of the possibility that it can probably ruin my future :( But unlike you, I play. (sigh)

The more time you'll invest in HnH now the more time you'll have left to invest in playing HnH when you're older. :P
Be smart your primary goal should be getting very well educated and/or a good job career.

You played Salem.............. come back, set an alarm clock and make yourself stick to it. :)

It's all a matter of prioritising - the cat has irregular mealtimes, I eat a lot of burnt food, and you could write your name in the dust, but, the toilet is clean and you could eat your dinner off my kitchen floor! :D

i quit haven because the lag made it no fun, and then i played salem, and that started to take over my life too...

i took a few days off salem, and realised that I really had very little desire to go back to it (fun in salem << fun in haven), so i quit that too :p

and now i've got more work done in the last 3 months than i did for the previous 2 years, but.... I might try the alarm clock thing, I have a very strong urge to make a fresh hobo and travel the world/get killed :). I miss all the havenites a lot :(.

It works for me - Just make sure to set the volume at max and pick the most annoying sound/tone it has and then put the alarm clock out of reach, preferably somewhere where you actually have to get up and move away from the pc, lol, or you'll just tap snooze/off. :)

No Lag?

Postby Gray » Wed Apr 10, 2013 10:17 pm

Is it just me or there is not lag at all ingame? The lag was pretty bad several months ago when I tried.

the laggs there, your just senile.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
