Small borrows will limit the general damage invaders can do. But it also lowers the aid you can give/send to that borrow in case of trouble. As the first thing to go are the public jump-in points. So you also need one or more secured/BW'ed jump-in points for defenders to jump into a given borrow to aid in its defense. (Darn keys)
