Really hard to tell especially when I don't really pay attention to OPs and EDs to all of the shows that I watch or watched.

I don't have a clue either. There was only one other anime I associated with the ode to joy. And that was the ending of the last episode of gunslinger girls. But I really don't think that is what you had in mind. I figured it's probably from a movie, so I checked a list to see what fits a "we're all equal, part of a big human family (or of life in general)" but it seemed to suit only a few of them. And all those I checked were negative. It's probably from something old.

first hint for the other one:
many, if not most, japanese can tell its beethoven's symphony no.9 as soon as one hears that melody; it has become one of the seasonal tune in December, or the end of the year, here. lots and lots of japanese practice that choral IN GERMAN to join the choral performance every year. (most japanese do not know german, but many can sing it in german for this reason as you can see in the other video of 10,000 japanese singing.)
we call it "第九/daiku" meaning "the ninth" and this ED in question is called "No. 9", but it is arranged and sung in japanese with funny lyrics so that it may not sound the same to those who do not recognize the melody.

second hint:
it is a movie, not too old though...but i dont know maybe youngsters find it old lol

I think I got it. :P

But I have to say that I haven't seen the movie. Was again one of these things that seemed somewhat interesting but that I didn't come around to watch.

The hints were probably aimed directly at the name of the song as well as the christmas setting (and the underlying joy of life theme):
"On Christmas Eve three homeless people living on the streets on Tokyo find a newborn baby among the trash and set out to find the parents."

This anime is full of this man's compositions. Some of my favorite music.

Alright, here we go:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoMTXH8fM5Q (an ending theme this time)

Has been a while since I've seen that show and I'm not super fond of it but that's what popped up in my head. I hope it's an easier choice this time but maybe people don't even know it so well anymore.

Hints:
a show built on a lot of random humour, packed into a coming-of-age-story, *cough* guitars, scooter *cough*

Also, just wondering but a few animes carry wolf themes. Do wolves have some kind of special meaning in japanese culture?
