Let's practice rioting

On a side note, why don't rioters ever just bring gas masks?

Imagine Loftar who's reading some players server logs and scratching his head furiously to get some sparkling code while performing his magic :P

btw. it's not the huts that burn :P

I'm 100% sure he just got fed up with the doss attacks then put a max transfer package rate from clients. Issue is just the low threshold and it could be fixed just with an extra digit. Its frankly miss placed anger when you read his comments where he thinks we are all bunch of hackers and saboteurs.

Coincidentally I was working on map package requests and had discovered the fucked up way the maps constantly get requested from server every second. Was working on a fix for a smoother way to update the map data right before I had to get back to studies. But right now the package request are low enough to even notice them with casual item transfers. Its just pointless fixing the map requests when you can't even play normally when you get the boot for just transferring a few items. I have a frictionless scroll so I can't exactly control my transfers so its literally a crash per transfer. Its to the point where I can't do anything with items in bulk amounts. In fact I get booted just accidentally hovering my mouse over an inventory while I'm scrolling.

To be frank. If this was truly alpha it would have been fixed as alpha is about testing and responding to outcomes. Right now the outcome is negative and its yet ignored. Thats not called alpha testing, its called dev is trolling yo ass.

worry not, im not playing this game until hafen is released, however it's unfortunate that I wouldn't even be able to try hafen if it's released after march or a later date.

It's called a dev team composed of two people; they have multiple projects, limited funding, and many users who are so hard to deal with that even a team of professionals hired for PR purposes would probably need to open its own addiction clinic and psychiatrist ward after six months in the business. This thread's title is still burning it's way through my screen as I write this post.

Making demands of the dev team is not a way to improve the game. Neither are insults, harassment, laying blame, yammering, hollering, hair-pulling, wall-banging, the tapping of the feets, or melodramatic accounts and metaphors regarding the subjective experience of anguish and indignity that participating in the game might inflict upon the unwary. If, by some anti-miracle you were to successfully use any or all of these tactics to get a content creator to follow your whims and dictates, it would destroy them and their product, and you'd still be left out in the cold with only anger and blame-throwing to warm you.

The game is an 'alpha' because the basic framework is in place, but not all the core features have been implemented. This is distinct from how stable or reliable it is, and it's not that uncommon for games to be almost unplayable until months after their market release. In my experience, H&H has been more stable than the average new release made by a team of thousands with a multi-million dollar budget. That's in large part due to the steady pace and careful attention it's given. No Christmas rush here, so far as I can see.

If and when I developed any kind of strong misgivings about this game's direction, progress, or community management, I would simply stop playing it. There's plenty of other people willing to help out and enjoy doing it, so one or a hundred less disgruntled players is no loss for the team. Jorb and Loftar are smart enough to ignore users who try to order them around or manipulate their emotions. If they weren't, they would have abandoned this project in disgust years ago.

Kathdys - Joined: Tue Nov 25, 2014 4:39 am. Either its your alt and your main acc is something u don't wish to share for whatever reasons, or this is your first account and you're with us for what, 10 days? and know everything about the game and forums and devs.

We're here for far longer and already know how this game is played or how devs are acting when it comes to acting. We know how their wind blows, yet we still want this game to improve so some of us will always try to give positive comments, negative critics and suggestions, even if they will never see daylight. And of course we can be bothered when something is applied which screws 80% of population base, after all, there is quite few of us actives since many worlds by now.

We had the discussion about Kathdys account and discussion style already in this thread ...

While i'm not happy that some of you experience that sh*t i also need to point out that the player number doesn't show 80% affected

more like about 20%

I'd love to see a better communication with custom client creators and loftar maybe on haven channel -if you haven't yet

Not per se. It was just a potentially beneficial side effect. ^^

I must point out that all clients regardless including the custom one requests map packages every second per grid. The update I was working on was in aid to reduce that 1 sec update feature to a much lower or on need basis request. It was very tricky and had to tie into a few update areas including plowing and such. It would aid in reducing the footprint of custom clients to even lower then the vanilla client. In reverse there must be an alternative client out there that removed the minimum 1 sec update threshold and caused all this problem and probably was the result of the as of late slowdowns on the server.

But as I see it it must have been the issue loftar was faced with to punish all for the one client out there that caused all this havoc or to individually ban the targeted client users. I'm sure he got fed up banning the individuals using said client till he just straight up nuked everyone. But now that the nuking is over, could we please get the nice tweak to get the game to a nice playable state again.
