to be honest a pallisade is pretty decent protection now since you need 300+ str to bust them without a ram

besides, there are plenty of villages that are recruiting, you don't have to play solo, and you don't have to be hardcore to be in a village

Not your alts.

I don't really understand that system at all, having all those alt is fucking all role playing, village system (you can found village with alts, don't need other people), economy (you can have alts for everything, one farmer, one miner, etc. It's just dumb and not creative for sure.

I understand that this is an alpha and everyone says 'we can find bugs and test game that way!' but it's bullshit. You can't see how all that works unless you need team work, trade between cities and that kind of shit. And if you want to live as a hermit it's even more important to have one character not a bunch of alts providing your main with everything he needs.

Not to mention that wars are pointless if you can play with alts, and don't care if it dies, and use your main only in safe situations. it's the cause that people don't value their characters and the game. You can make an alt that is dispensable and anonymous, so you don't need to care about consequences of your actions, and this is bullshit

A village requires at a minimum hundreds of bricks, a bunch of wrought iron and six steel bars. To get that you have to not only be a dedicated player willing to put in hours, but also to be able to team up with at least four other very dedicated players.

For most people the update didn't do anything. It's only of interest to players able to make the game an obsession. For people who can only play eight or so hours a week it's not a solution. Casual players are fucked in this game.

new brodgar proves you wrong on all counts. an open village of casual players using a cell defense - each member has their own plot and walls

I never really understood the point of alts, except from its better than people making mulitple accounts (even though they still do).

Wow 2/3rds of this is total crap. How is one player able to run a whole town by himself with alts? He still needs to play them you know.
Killing alts are a problem though, I will give you that. Or at least they used to be, let's see how the buffed walls will work out against them.

Also big lol at the idea to forbid alts. Loftar had the right idea when thinking about being able to use several chars on the same account simultaneously. People are gonna use alts even if they have to open another account for it, so why not just keep them all on one?

Search the forum for some posts about xanadu, goons, delamore, and the racket if you want detail.

Basically Delamore started up a faction which he claimed to be very powerful, and used people's perception of that power to extort smaller settlements and generally terrorize gullible players.

A player faction called Xanadu was founded with the express purpose of combating that threat / policing a large area of the map.

There was a lot of noise, delamore claimed responsibility for a bunch of raids, Xanadu raided and killed delamore, eventually his faction ejected him and chose a new leader. At some stage Xanadu was raided and basically fell out of prominence / stopped policing.
