One, I walled your hearth fire in because I wanted a way for you to get out. It was not my intention to trap you in a wall that is impossible to fix, which is why I built fires. Two, you logged in while I was completing the wall. I even stopped to ask you what you were doing before completing it. You waited a whole terrible 20 minutes before playing again. Three if I really wanted to fuck you over I would have built kilns around your hearth and I did not.

Your characters are:

test
Stelth

The character I killed behind the house was test-, I supposed it was you because of the obvious similarities in your names.

Here is why I killed test-

- I was afk behind my cabin watching my crucibles which are very securely located.
- I saw a guy trying to get in to my securely located crucibles.
- I pmed him to find his name was test-, almost instantly remembering the name similarities between test and test-.
- He walked in to MY house, the one I was behind.
- When he ran behind it I darted out from behind and just inched one shotting him with my axe.
- I chased him all the way up to the shore of the BN swamp and he tried to run into a cabin near it.
- I smashed him with cleave for high damage and instantly perma killed him as he fell behind the cabin.

And that's that. When I went inside my house later I found theft clues EVERYWHERE inside, all pointing to him behind the swamp cabin. He stole some valuables from me, 5 wrought iron to be specific.

This is my reasoning.

Im confused. Is the player behind the guy that Adam walled and killed, and the guy that Potjeh permawalled, the same guy? I was under the impression that they were different. And what was that about Adam having a reasonable conversation with the guy and then releasing him? I think there must have been at least 3 different walling events.

But anyway, we have a village idol, which gives us a village claim. Which means that if we dont want a person in the village, they have no more right to enter it than they do to enter our houses, IMHO. That said, I would like to see visitors being able to freely enter BN...maybe the BNers need to make a list of things that are acceptable and unacceptable to do in BN?
Like, building a Hfire in the common Hfire area is ok, but building them behind a house is not.
Trespassers tripping on claim corners are ok, but trespassers entering houses are not.
Entering mines unaccompanied by a citizen is not ok.
So on and so forth. And Goran, could I get a clear answer...Our Boatmurdered idea leaves me still an honorary citizen of BN, right? Or no, and I will butt out of BN related disputes.

Ybobjoe is the guy Potjeh blocked in. Not the guy Adam blocked in, and later conversed with.

Is the guy that Adam killed the same guy that he conversed with? So Potjeh blocked Ybobjoe/theThief, and Adam blocked 2 guys, killing one and having a conversation with the other?

No, the guy he killed is someone completely different, who he did not block in.

I think that a good rule of thumb would be: if it leaves a theft clue, you shouldn't do it.

I also agree that hidden hearths aren't welcome in Bottleneck, and entering houses without invitation is illegal. I'm not so sure on mine entrance restrictions. While we run the risk of getting our mine walled in again, I think that it's an acceptable risk. Placing too many restrictions on visitors encourages xenophobia, which is something I'd like to avoid.

As for an example of what's acceptable, visitors are welcome to make use of our communal fields (provided they replant what they harvest) and bakeries. I'd also give them free access to the smelters by the mine, provided they make their own charcoal. Generally, access to all public resources should be available for visitors.

Of course, if any Bottleneck residents object to these guidelines, they're open for discussion.

TL, DR: Stay out of people's claims, don't destroy or steal things and don't build unmovable things in Bottleneck and you'll be fine.

It's bottlenecks residences town. they are free to dictate where hearth fires are places.

If they do not want hearthfires placed in obscured places then that is their local law, respect it.

Where is bottleneck?
