the ability to summon and kill offline players and the ability to build high and strong walls to keep griefers out do not strike me as "immersive models of player interaction" so much as very effective anti-griefer tools. Good to have, but only necessary because JTG was an ass.

He didn't test them, he used exploits that people already knew to cause maximum grief to players and constantly fills up the forum with offensive trash.
He is absolutely, categorically NOT adding value to the game. The only thing of value he quite possibly added was his post on SA which brought a heap of new players to the game.
Don't glorify his douche baggery just because Jorb said he was helping point out problem areas.
Speaking of being an ass...
Yes, lets insult him now, you know, so we can have cheesemakers, hooray!

Right, so when/if this game becomes more popular and 5 different players that play like JTG show up we'll have cheesemakers. Makes plenty of sense, I for one thank him for what he has made the devs do, sure he was playing the villian role, but at that time there was nothing to stop him, now you have walls and tracking and the ability to kill him.
So what would you rather have: A cheesemaker (how exciting

) or protection for the future of the game. It seems like griefers would ruin the game if they were not taken care of...but no lets make cheesemakers now and let the griefers come later to ruin it then.
Thats what I got from your post.
